Escape the city life for a weekend break or for a longer stay. This historic farm offers endless opportunities to relax and explore the KZN Midlands. We like to think that we have the best of both worlds -the benefits of farm life, yet easy access to cafes,restaurants, bicycle trails, farmers markets, golf courses and schools.Only 2kms off the N3 we are easily accessible and very easy to find. Mooifontein Farm Cottage

Our Cottage is a beautiful rustic cottage on the very popular Midlands Meander Route. It is on a farm with lots of lovely open spaces and beautiful surrounding views. The cottage has a lovely warm outside shower and also a panoramic view . It is very comfortable and perfect for children and also is pet friendly for those who don't like to leave there pets at home. Our Cottage has a 1 km dirt road off the main R103,at times it can be quiet tough with a small car. Please check if you are worried

Beautiful Breeze Cottage

Beautiful Breeze Cottage sits among the stunning hills of the Dargle Valley. It overlooks 3 tranquil dams, rolling pastures and an indigenous forest. There are cattle and horses in the fields, abundant bird life to enjoy and peacefulness to breath in. It's the perfect place to recharge while escaping the pressures of city life and with the Midlands Meander on our doorstep you can be as busy or as quiet as you choose. The farm is now fully off Eskom power so load shedding is a distant memory.

Rutland Ridge Farm House

This modern farmhouse is situated on a dam, on a working farm, close to the Nottingham Road village. Overlooking a small dam, it is north-facing with views of the surrounding ridge and farm activities. The house has a glass enclosed patio, large open plan living area/kitchen, and four en-suite bedrooms downstairs. The loft area is divided into two bedrooms, a bathroom and a TV area. This home is ideal for a weekend in the KZN midlands, and very comfortably accommodates 2-3 families or 8 adults.

Blissful Balgowan Retreat

Tucked away on a hillside, our weekend home offers superior finishes and amenities throughout. Sunrise views and balmy evenings set the tone for a peaceful stay in a secure estate. Drink in the views and the open air, during your romantic weekend away or family getaway, or use it as a base to explore the Midlands. We are a stone's throw from Michaelhouse and the R103. We have alternate power supplies to cope with load-shedding, and our water comes from a borehole sois competely safe to drink.

Enjoy peaceful but sophisticated living on a tranquil working farm with cattle, sheep, chickens and ducks. Walk in the indigenous forests, run, ride bikes, paddle our kayaks on the dam or just sit next to your fireplace and relax. Entire four en-suite bedroom home with ample living and entertaining spaces for exclusive use. A lovely family stay venue. Price is for 4 people. Additional guests charged extra. Maximum 8 guests allowed. NB Large duck pond 20 M from the Farmhouse.

Romantic Rondawel on the forest's edge

This Bush Lodge styled cottage is only 3km away from Midmar Dam Resort and is geared for a relaxing stay. Privately positioned inside an enormous, well established Midlands Garden, it shares a boundary with River Goose Estate. The verandah overlooks sweeping lawns, with a braai area set under the African sky. The king bed is comfortable and the shower pressure is excellent. Guests have access to walks in the garden, the swings, an outdoor massage table and outdoor shower.

Bourne View

Bourne View is a 2 bedroom retreat with 3 seating areas which give a feeling of space. The ensuite bedrooms sit either side of the lounge , perfect for privacy. The enclosed patio offers comfortable seating with glass doors to the garden. The uninterrupted, open views set this house apart from most Village houses. Full DSTV and WIFI Coffee Shops are a few minutes walk away. Bourne View is ideal for a relaxing stay, remote work or a calm base to explore The Midlands.

Located in picturesque Currys Post, 180* at Mission House is a charming studio/cottage surrounded by breathtaking views of the Drakensberg Mountains. This cottage is secluded and cozy, with expansive views and outlook. Light, spacious and airy, it is comfortably furnished with everything you'd need for a weekend away in the beautiful KZN Midlands. Mission House is in the heart of the Midlands Meander route, and only a short distance from the N3.

Fisherman's cottage with spectacular view

The fisherman's cottage is situated right on the water's edge and has a panoramic view of the dam and indigenous forest. Relax and enjoy the abundant bird life or tumble out of bed to cast a line for bass. The cottage is centrally located on the Midlands Meander in the Balgowan area, and is close to popular restaurants and wedding venues.

The FarSide Dam Cottage

This Two Bedroomed Cottage is Private and situated adjacent to its own Trout Dam. It is Well Appointed, Fully Equipped and Serviced. Electric Blanks; Down Duvets; High Specification Mattresses; An Open Wood Fire Place; and DSTV are amongst the Many Comforts offered within this Popular Charming Cottage.

Garden cottage with a picturesque location. Ideal for an overnight stay, for a wedding, visiting the local schools or attending a conference in the beautiful Midlands. Please note we don’t have a kitchen or living area, but there is a fridge and a few kitchen amenities to make your stay comfortable.
