Aberdeen Lighthouse Cottage 2 | Coastal | Dolphins

Wake up to the sound of waves, the cry of seabirds, and —on most days—maybe the splash of dolphins playing just offshore. Nestled beside the iconic Girdleness Lighthouse and perched at the edge of Aberdeen Harbour, these beautiful cottages, built in 1833, originally the accommodation for the lightkeepers and their families, offer a rare chance to stay at the edge of the North Sea, where rugged coastline meets calm, cosy comfort. This historic cottage has two bedrooms + study sleep five people.

Rubha nan Gall Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage

A former Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage in a spectacular remote location on the Isle of Mull. Built by the Stevensons in 1857, Rubha nan Gall Keeper's Cottage has been completely renovated and now offers a comfortable home for up to 6 guests from which to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and abundant wildlife. Access is via a coastal footpath, a 25 min walk from Tobermory and there is NO vehicle access. The cottage is off-grid, but solar panels, a spring and WiFi mean you probably won’t notice.

Stay at the at the most northerly point of the Scottish mainland in a traditional Lighthouse Keepers Cottage. Enjoy panoramic views north across the Pentland Firth to Orkney, the Old Man of Hoy, and west to the hills of Cape Wrath. There are moorland walks direct from the cottage, while puffins, razorbills and guillemots nest on the stunning cliffs below the lighthouse. Seals are often heard on the rocks below. Look out too for passing whales as well as the many ships that ply the Firth.

Living in a Lighthouse

A magical converted 18th-century lighthouse located on the edge of the picturesque village of Winterton-on-Sea, Norfolk. A building with a rich history, mentioned in Defoe's Robinson Crusoe and used as a lookout tower during World War II. The original tower has now been extended at ground level, with a simple glass and timber structure, which opens onto a cedar deck and garden. The property has been widely featured in interiors magazines and national newspapers.

If you can be tempted away from gazing out of the south facing sunroom, watching the sea, yachts and other marine traffic, it is less than two minutes’ walk to the water.

A Beautiful Modern 1 bedroom suite in the private garden of Guest House with private bathroom and kitchen. There is fully equipped second shared kitchen in the main guest house you can also use but please make sure you clean after using. Children are permitted , however the house is not equipped for children therefore no responsibility can be held . There is free parking in the front of the property on private driveway but must be confirmed prior booking.
