Howard’s Mountain Lodge is the start for all outdoor adventure in Tongariro National Park, Ruapehu Skifields The lodge offers a variety of accommodation for all budgets. Hoatu Lodge rests quietly in the heart of lush Aotearoa bush. Our two dorms of bunk beds and two double guest rooms, are perfect for groups of friends, whanau, or retreats. A large commercial kitchen, open & spacious lounge area, fireplace, deck, and covered courtyard make up this space that's full of surprises. Walk along the awa, enjoy a bonfire at the firepit, walk up to the prayer hut for some peace or see local glowworms light up the bush.

Private home on 2.5 acres of gardens. We are near Mount Pirongia which is a volcano. Great walking tracks. Close to Waitomo Caves and Hamilton Airport. We welcome guests with a glass of wine or cup of tea. Breakfast is sugar free muesli and fresh fruit and or free range eggs from our own chickens.
