The Retreat Cabin on the Lake at Marmutt Woods

Our goal is rest and renewal for our guests so they return home ready to serve others and encouraged to spend regular time in prayer and God's Word. Relaxing is also a part of renewal so on-site activities and the surrounding communities offer plenty of recreation and tourism opportunities. Marmutt Woods is a place to step out of daily distractions to relax and refocus. Even if you are here primarily for some other reason, we hope you'll take advantage of the quiet time and provided materials.

This family-size, fully-enclosed suite with a separate entrance from the host's attached house offers all the comforts of home within 15 min. of Minocqua, Rhinelander, and premier outdoor experiences- hiking, biking, fishing, boating. Inside find bright spaces, full log beams, and a hobbiton feel; open concept living area with fully stocked kitchen, table, bunk beds, large couch, TV and Wi-Fi; bedroom with queen bed and stowed air mattress; full bath; play room. The entire suite space is yours.

Our cottage is a base camp from which to enjoy the beauty of the north woods. Plan your winter to snowmobile, ice fish, downhill or cross-country ski and hike. In summer make it a get-a-way for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, or ATVing. Venture out to the numerous waterfalls, hike the Ottawa National Forest or Sylvania Wilderness, view the scenic Porcupine Mountains, drive through the Keweenaw peninsula. The Heart of Vilas County Bike Trails and numerous Hiking trails are just minutes away. The #5 Snowmobile/ATV trail runs across the front of the property along Hwy 51 and we are surrounded by many area lakes and the Northern Highland State Forest.

There are two public boat landings and Eagle Lake Park within 1.5 miles and is also located on the snowmobile and atv/ utv trail.
