Waratah is nestled in a wilderness-rich pocket of Tasmania's North West and is the perfect base from which to explore the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and the ancient Tarkine wilderness.

The essence of the shack is simple, light & cosy with attention to details & stunning water views. This is truly a magical place, the perfect retreat for one to two people.

Relax and enjoy stunning views in one of two architecturally designed cabins, nestled in the rolling hills, just outside the town of Sheffield and on the main road to Cradle Mountain. You will be staying on our working farm that is home to platypus in the dams, a small herd of Speckle Park beef cattle and some fat and friendly goats. The farm is proudly centered eco-friendly, regenerative principles, promoting a healthy environment for birds, insects and other life to flourish.

The open plan living opens out onto the deck where you will find our solid stone bath that is waiting for you!

Inspired by reflections of yesteryear the cottage pays homage to the pioneers of the highlands, and the huts they lived in. You will be taken back to the times of our pioneers in this rustic cottage, but don't be misled by the simplistic exterior, inside, you will find everything you need to help you "Rewind, Relax, Rejuvenate."

Dozens of birds, Spotted Tail Quoll, Pademelons, & Eastern Barred Bandicoot do visit, again depending on the depending on the season.
