Tucked away on a no through road, that leads directly onto a bridleway and footpaths, Shepherd's cottage makes an ideal place to stay for those who simply want to get away from it all. We welcome 2 small dogs ( pet fee applies) and horses - with a choice of fields to keep your horse in ( additional charge of £25 per night for horses). The River Parrett and trail runs through the farm . We are only 30 minutes drive from the world heritage site that is the Jurassic coast, which has the towns of Lyme Regis famous for its fossils and Bridport which are popular for the beach and cafes.

The Tallet is opposite the old farmhouse and next to a magnificent Somerset cider barn. The private terrace has a covered eating area and open lounging space enclosed by walls and clipped box hedging. The underfloor heating and electric log burner add warmth to the sitting room and the spacious open plan kitchen makes for a sociable space.

The cottage is in stoke sub hamdon Ham Hill is a 390 acres country park centred on a huge Iron Age hill fort. which is popular for picnicking, walking and mountain biking, situated at he top of ham hill is the Prince of Wales Pub which is dog friendly. The Jurassic coast is from 40 minutes by car. West bay, Lyme Regis.

The village has a grocery shop, butcher, restaurant, pub, children’s playground and lots of walking all close by. The cottage is the perfect retreat and base to visit all Somerset and Dorset has to offer. There are two double bedrooms offering accommodation for upto 4 guests. The cottage garden is the perfect spot for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine by the fire pit.

We are one mile away from The Wise Man Inn - an award-winning pub; 6 miles from Dorset's stunning Jurassic coast and 3 miles from the county town of Dorchester. You will, however, need a car- or bikes! Sorry, no pets and no smoking. No EV charging, yet, but there are many fast charging points nearby.
