Laughing Horse Lodge - Animal friendly in Waipu

Positioned high in the hills above Waipu Cove, we offer a tranquil and modern animal-friendly base in historic Waipu, close to the beaches and town. The perfect spot to explore sunny Northland. Equestrians, you can arrange to bring your horse, ride in our arena or on nearby stunning Uretiti beach. If you'd like to bring your friendly dog, we can accommodate your furry friends. Our location is very quiet: no traffic noise, just the occasional sound of surf and birds. Not just for horse lovers.

Tara Valley Cabin

A boutique, sun-drenched and special hideaway set on 5 acres of permaculture tranquility. Your own three private cabins are nestled near 800 year old trees and joined with decks and pathways for you to wander and discover your bath. The bedroom opens out to a covered deck, and the full kitchen has a covered area with a large outdoor dining table and gas BBQ. Up the steps to the bathroom with a fresh, waterless, European electric toilet. Close to nature, beaches, markets, walks, cafes and fun.

"The Retreat"

Welcome to The Retreat. Situated on an idyllic 45 Acre Farm in Waipu, with your very own Lake and Sea views. It does not get any better than this! Just 1.5 hrs out of Auckland via State Highway 1. It's your ultimate City Break getaway! Fully renovated Chalet, Queen size Bed, quality Linen & Towels, high pressure Shower, heated Towel Rail, Kitchen, sun filled Decks, hot sunken Bath, Stars, and your very own vege garden. Make sure you pack your swimming suit and take a dip in the Lake!

The Annex - self contained unit .

The Annex is on a small farmlet, 6 km south of Whangarei, with harbour views. It was a sleepout, built in the 1980's, separate, but next to the main house. It has two bedrooms. There is a double bed and two singles plus a day bed in the living area. The living/ dining area, has a wood fire. There is a small shower room and separate toilet. It is situated about 100 mtr off SH1, so there can be road noise. There are no streetlights and it can be very dark if you arrive after sundown.

Makai Lodge has spectacular sweeping views of Bream Bay, and is positioned on a small lifestyle block giving an idyllic holiday spot conveniently located within 5 minutes of Waipu and 1.5 hours from Auckland. Enjoy the quintessential kiwi holiday location but relish the modern day conveniences provided such as dishwasher, heat pumps, washing machine and SMART TV. Everything you'd want to do on holiday is on your doorstep. Makai Lodge is a modern 2 bdrm apartment with a 180deg view.

Taurikura Peninsula Seaview Private Cabin and Camp

Comfortable self-contained cabin for 2, sitting upon a stunning private hilltop site overlooking Taurikura Bay in Whangarei Heads. Affordable peace, quiet and privacy is our aim (1 night stays available most days). Grass camping site space available (campers #3-8 will need to bring own tent/bed/linen and consumable items and supplies). I can provide made up floor mattresses for guests #3-4 if you are happy to share the small cabin space. Safe ample parking available on site.

Spacious, sunny studio Chalet. French Country style, King size bed, gorgeous bathroom, listen to the Kiwis calling at night. Separate kitchen, private deck, bbq, spa pool, beautiful views over the ocean and out to the Poor Knights Islands. PET FRIENDLY, x1 small-medium dog only, or extra x1 by arrangement only. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: We have Wifi available through out the property that sometimes has a weak/moderate signal. this is due to our location and sometimes bad weather

Waterfront Quintessential kiwi bach

This is a quintessential basic kiwi bach, absolute waterfront, stunning views, a hidden treasure with bush and beach walks, amazing fishing and diving. Our bach comes complete with everything needed for a beach holiday, weekend retreat or romantic getaway. An easy 10 minute stroll to local cafe or ten minute drive to Parua Bay cafes, 4 square and gas station and the infamous Parua Bay Tavern. Access to the Bach is down a short but moderately steep bush track(see photo).

Welcome to your getaway. An expansive, lush property bordered by a stream and native trees with an extensive garden where you are welcome to wander and sit. A private and peaceful Hot Tub area is available for your use. "Southwind" is a small rural property surrounded by farmland and other lifestyle blocks. We are 15 mins drive on sealed roads to amenities in both Mangawhai and Wellsford, 8 mins to the Te Arai surf beach turnoff and 12 minutes to the Te Arai Links course.
