This cottage is all about the view! Beach-side location at the base of the 199 steps - perfect for exploring the beautiful historic town of Whitby. Browse in the eclectic independent shops and sample the finest seafood in the local eateries. Walk up to the abbey, stroll along the piers and collect fossils from the beach, take a ride on the steam train to the neighbouring villages and explore the moors. Please note due to the beach side location of the cottage, there is unfortunately no parking.

Demeter乡村小屋

Demeter Cottage is a traditional fisherman's cottage located in White Horse Yard, behind the cobbled streets in the heart of the old town. Its just a stone's throw from the beach, harbour, shops and restaurants/bars, but tucked away for peace and quiet. Sleeping up to 4 guests, featuring a kitchen and cosy living area with fire; together with a private outdoor space to catch the afternoon sun. Access is via a few flights of steps, so may not be suitable for people with mobility difficulty.

Romantic victorian freestanding bath in the main bedroom. Arrival is down the busy cobbled church street. Best location. On-street parking scratch card provided in the W zone 10min walk.

With a first-floor balcony and an outside seating area to the front of the property, you will find this a great place to watch the steam trains on the opposite river bank.

The property sleeps four people in a king size bedroom and another with twin beds, on the lower ground floor. There is a bathroom on this level too, and a door from the main bedroom leads out to the charming patio area, sat next to the North York Moors Railway line and with stunning views over to the Abbey. Upstairs, on ground level there is a cloakroom, fully equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge.

Return to the dog field for afternoon tea or a glass of wine, where a bench for two in a peaceful sun trap provides panoramic views of the setting sun.

Situated on a narrow cobbled street just a yards off a main shopping street, there is Free nearby parking (scratchcard provided). See Whitby Abbey from the front door and the cliff top from the end of the road. Shop around the corner for milk, bread, newspaper or wine. Stylish cafes, restaurants, & micro brewery a few minutes away. Free wifi, Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, spacious en-suite and rainforest shower.

The Old Forge offers a great location for a relaxing stay in beautiful North Yorkshire.
