To the rear of the cottage is the iconic 140 mile C2C cycle path, which can be walked & leads into the coastal town of Whitehaven. Ennerdale with its beautiful remote & deep glacial lake, is only 5 miles away.

White Scaur Annexe is a self-contained, stand-alone building with a first floor modern apartment situated in an idyllic rural setting in the Lake District National Park, near the village of Bassenthwaite. Located off a private cul de sac, nestled in a wooded area, the apartment offers guests both peace and tranquility during their stay. The mews is one of 3 holiday houses in a terrace, located up a private driveway. Newly renovated for 2022. The accommodation is ideal for families, as well as walkers, bikers and cyclists. With easy transport links to the Lakes, the coast and beyond. The mews is wheelchair accessible with ramps and widened doorways.

Free parking for 1 vehicle. Commercial vehicles not permitted. If you enjoy walking, you'll be spoiled for choice with many scenic routes in the area, ranging from easy to more challenging. If you want a relaxing place to escape to at the end of the day… then look no further than our lovely holiday home!

Enjoy wonderful views of the Ennerdale fells, extending to Pillar and Steeple. The spacious, comfortable accommodation forms the main section of a larger semi-detached property. You will have the house to yourselves - we will be far away, but contactable should you have any questions or issues. It's self check-in and check-out. There are many good and varied walks nearby, as well as scenic drives and gastro pubs. You will need to bring groceries with you - breakfast is not supplied.

A cozy getaway to relax in front of the log burner or a place to soak your feet after an exhilarating day on the Lakeland Fells. Have a drink in the sun trap backyard. Cockermouth is a great base for holidaymakers and adventurers alike. Close to the Lake District for walking, hiking, cycling, paddle boarding, wild water swimming or just relaxing.

There is so much to see and do during your stay at our luxurious barn conversation. Holmrook is the gateway to Eskdale Valley and Wasdale Valley. Be sure to visit Britain's favourite view at England's deepest lake, Wastwater. A must do for any fell walker would include Scafell Pike, England's tallest mountain. Kirk Fell, Great Gable, Lingmell, Harter Fell are just some of the local Western Fells. Muncaster Castle, The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and sandy beaches are all nearby.

Relax at this peaceful place to stay in the Western Lake District. There are plenty of lovely walks from the doorstep. The King George pub is only a minute walk away, serving lovely home cooked food and real ale. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, known locally as “La’al Ratty” is only a ten minute walk from the cottage. Eskdale Stores is open daily. The cottage itself has been recently renovated and has a secure garden with lovely views, ideal dogs.

Come and explore the lesser known and much quieter part of the Lake District. No long traffic queues and parking is much easier. Superb views of the surrounding countryside, Irish Sea and the Lake District Mountains. This accommodation is fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Ideally located for walking, mountain biking, kayaking, golf or walks on the beach all within a short drive.
