Johns Island is on the first floor of our historic three room Inn and has a wrap-around farmer's porch with a side-view across Bass Harbor. This room is street side and faces a meadow which is filled with lupines in the spring. Take the staircase to the shore, watch the tide change and look for your favorite shore bird - guillemots, loons and eagles are frequent visitors. We are perfectly situated directly on the saltwater of the Reach and the freshwater of Walker Pond. The Oakland House has two private ocean beaches. In the distance, you can see the Pumpkin Island Lighthouse and even the Camden Hills! Our guests also have access to the Blue Dot and Yellow Dot trails that lead up to a phenomenal view of the waterfront from Lookout Rock.

Welcome to The Deckhouse, Unit 4 - a cozy, family-owned and operated one-bedroom (king), one-bath located in a quiet, tucked-away neighborhood of Stonington, Maine. Just a short drive from downtown shops, galleries, and the scenic waterfront, this peaceful getaway offers both privacy and convenience. This unit is one of two located above a detached garage, the owners live on the property in a separate building. 2026 Updates include: firm mattress topper and a sound machine.

This room is part of the Merrybell Motel, a classic roadside motel on Rt 1. There is one queen bed in the room which comfortably sleeps two people.
