The open coal fire makes the evenings extra cosy, making this a memorable holiday stay.

The Gardeners Cottage is set within the walled gardens of Corvisel House, built by Rear Admiral John McKerlie in 1829. We have restored the cottage in a vintage, quirky style with Donegal & Harris tweed soft furnishings & floral accents to reflect the glorious garden outside! It's located at the edge of Newton Stewart so very handy for evening strolls to the eateries in town. You can take walks in our small forest from the courtyard & hang out in the walled garden - green fingers are welcomed!!

Two beautiful bedrooms one of which can turn into single beds and each with their own bathrooms offers flexibility for both couples and families. Parking for three cars , EV charger , bike storage , gardens and a BBQ this is a great base to enjoy the magic of our Lakeland valley.

Travel a little to sample the delights in the local area like the chocolate of the Cocoabean Company. Enjoy a walk to the local pubs for lunch at Gatehouse of Fleet or Borgue. For a special evening meal The Ship Inn at Gatehouse of Fleet has lovely locally produced food. car essential, no public transport.

The cottage is set on the shores of Wastwater and so offers stunning views of the lake and the surrounding hills. It is the perfect starting point for numerous Wainwright walks. Scafell Pike, Yewbarrow and Illgill Head can all be started from the doorstep. Very easy access to the lake for paddleboarding, kayaking and wild swimming.

Situated on a smallholding looking out to sea in a beautiful region on the Solway coast, secluded beaches and coves are only a 15 minute stroll and the artists town of Kirkcudbright a short drive away. We offer a 15% discount for weekly stays.
