Welcome to our mountain getaway cottage! Barberry Cottage is located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills. It is located only 32 mins/22 miles from Kings Canyon National Park where you can enjoy walking among the majestic giant sequoias of General Grant Grove, relaxing at Hume Lake, or adventuring in Boyden Cavern. The cottage is also a perfect location for a peaceful getaway where you can spend time simply relaxing amidst classic California scenery: oaks, pines, and the ever-changing skies.

Shared amenities include composting toilets, bathhouse with toilets & shower, an outdoor kitchen, fire pits, and a community building with games. Enjoy a stay on our 380 acre private ranch that shares a property line with Sequoia National Park. The ranch is located just minutes away from the park entrance! The ranch has plenty of private outdoor space to explore including over a mile of the Kaweah River, one of the only deep water swimming areas around, ponds, and, a 60 ft waterfall. Our property is great for the hiking, bird watching, swimming, or fishing enthusiast! A map of the land and its features will be provided upon arrival.

We are a husband and wife team who grew up in the city and had dreams of owning a place where we could welcome friends, family, & maybe some animals! When we first saw our place, we fell in love with the views, yet we never imagined becoming a sanctuary for animals (and humans too)! As parents, our only regret is not doing this sooner! Now we would love to share our 5-acre farm with you!

Our guest cottage is an architect-designed tiny home for 2, in a peaceful rural area. It is just 28 minutes from beautiful Kings Canyon National Park. There is a view of meadows and guests are welcome to stroll the half-mile around the property and view the sheep, dogs and horses. Birdlife is abundant and nearby is Cat Haven ( featuring lions, snow leopards etc.). Yosemite is within reach for a day trip . Great coffee 2 minutes away! Sorry, no assistance animals (see house rules)
