The Cottage

A rustic cottage in the middle of Darthia Farm. The farm sits along the shore of West Bay and a short walking trail brings you from the cottage to the salt water. We grow organic mixed vegetables, herbs and flowers, raise sheep, ducks, chickens, pigs, and work with Haflinger horses. We have a farm store that is open everyday except Tuesdays and Sundays. The property is 15 minutes away from the Schoodic Section of Acadia and is surronded is by countless hiking trails and access to fresh water.

The Adventure House

The Adventure House was named by a family of houseguests with 3 fun and lively children who filled their time here with adventures at Acadia National Park and beyond! We are 10 minutes from the quiet side of the park and just under an hour to the busy side, both filled with scenic beauty! We have an added amenity for families traveling with extra family or friends. We're now offering a beautiful camper that comfortably sleeps 6 on the property available only for an extra charge after booking.

Schoodic Loft Cabin "The Roost" with Kayaks

This playful cabin offers a unique spot to unwind and explore the Schoodic peninsula and Downeast Maine. Kayaks are provided to explore island studded 462 acre Jones pond, a 10 minute walk down a trail. A 10 minute drives brings you to the less visited Schoodic section of Acadia NP, where a network of hiking and biking trails lace the coastal forests and dramatic rocky coast. Nearby Winter Harbor has shops and restaurants and even a ferry across the bay to Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island.

Tranquil cabin; open plan. Bedroom w/queen bed & privacy doors. Alcove w/bunkbeds. The Cabins at Currier Landing, featured in Dwell as “Three Magical Tiny Cabins Take Root in a Maine Forest,” are located on the Thos. Currier Saltwater Farm. Glimpses of water & access to 300’ of the Benjamin River Harbor shore. 2 seasonal cabins; 1 studio cabin. Centrally located on the Blue Hill Peninsula near Deer Isle, the cabins offer access to outdoor activities, cultural events, restaurants & shops.

Summer 2026 ~Visit Acadia Park & Bar Harbor by day & stay here at night. Our 1.4 acre shore-front family retreat began an 18 month renovation Fall of 2018 & only opened recently - Dishwasher, new beds, Hi-speed Internet no data limit. We fell in love with this quiet coastal sanctuary, the perfect place to reconnect with nature while staying on grid. ☪ At night you'll experience deafening silence under the natural light of the stars. High-speed Internet keeps you connected.

Watersway cottage is one of just a few homes located along Acadia's lovely Schoodic Loop. Guests can rent kayaks, bikes, or go hiking by stepping out the back door. Walk or ride to bars, restaurants and art galleries. Enjoy our crowd-free corner of Acadia — or drive 5 min to the Bar Harbor ferry for a charming boat ride to Mt Desert Island. Alternatively, drive up the coast for more spectacular hiking, picturesque fishing villages, quirky shops and quintessential Maine culture.

This is where you get away from it all, and enjoy proximity to all the best of Downeast. The view is spectacular, and wildlife abounds. Watch the lobster boats work their traps just in front of the house. Not appropriate for small children. Sorry, NO PETS, we're allergic :-(

Take the local ferry to MDI to explore Bar harbor’s restaurants and shops, or stay local and enjoy the less traveled side of Acadia National Park, Schoodic Pennisula (5-10 minute drive).
