On Strawberry Creek in Idyllwild's historic district, the Owl Pine Guest Cabin was built in 1922. It's the best of both worlds w/ plenty of nature (burbling creek, rock paths, trees, birds, mountain air, stars) + close to civilization (the property is near restaurants/shops). Native rock fireplace, hot tub, eclectic art, record collection/player, games, books, TV, Wifi, BBQ, fire pit hang deck. We have a chicken coop, happy to leave eggs at the cabin upon request. Ideally located close to town, only a 10-15 min walk to explore the local shops, restaurants, & art galleries. Just over 2 hours from Los Angeles or San Diego & 1 hour from Palm Springs, enjoy world-class hiking, breathtaking views, & all that the unique and preserved town of Idyllwild has to offer. Bathrooms were remodeled in 2023 and the kitchen in 2025!

Curl up by the fireplace and enjoy surround-sound tunes, or have a spa-like soak after hitting the nearby trails. As a creative couple ourselves, we designed this space for romantic getaways and creative retreats.

Explore Whitewater Preserve, enjoy a desert hike, plunge into the oasis pool and then settle in for some remarkable stargazing.

The Far Out is a classic A-frame cabin nestled in the beautiful woods of Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains. This mountain retreat sits on an acre of land, complete with a 1200 sq ft wooden deck and semi-sunken hot tub. The interior décor is impeccably curated, blending vintage character with modern design for a distinctly cool cabin vibe. Set far back from the road, the cabin and the grounds offer a magnificent private space for a relaxing getaway. Beauty abounds at The Far Out!
