Whether you are nature lovers, riders, or want a quiet personal or romantic retreat, our place is ideal. Walking, hiking, biking trails abound right from the property. Tucked into a magnificent redwood forest the cottage has a gas fireplace, reading chair, futon couch, good lighting, desk, and dining table. The kitchen contains basic staples, including teas and fresh organic eggs from our hens. A large claw-foot tub is in the bathroom and a shower is on the secluded west facing deck.

Inside you’ll find a sunken living room, fireplace, large built-in sofa, 2 bedrooms, vinyl record player, and more. Perfect for a couple’s getaway, solo trip or small family.

Handcrafted Hideaway Near Mendocino

Our cabin is nestled among redwood trees a few miles from the wild Pacific Ocean, historic Mendocino, and the Anderson Valley wine country. A place to relax, recharge, or finish a creative project. Bookings include Mendocino County tourism tax. No pets due to wildlife, and host allergies. Note: bear, fox, hawks, quail, bats, lizards, banana slugs, bobcat, spiders are part of the forest ecosystem and may occasionally visit the vicinity.

Water Tower Retreat

The Water Tower is tucked away and nestled among redwoods a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. This is a place to disconnect and reconnect with the surroundings. To unplug and decompress from busy life. About 5 miles from our town of Elk and a nice coastal drive 14 miles to the historic village of Mendocino. Our calendar is open 3 months in advance. Otters' Den - River kayaking paradise!

Otter's Den is located on the Ten Mile River about 9 miles north of Ft Bragg on Hwy 1. It is off the grid and surrounded by nature and wildlife. Close to beaches and sand dunes. Rustic, but comfortable with queen bed, propane heating and cooking, hot shower, outdoor privy and big firepit. Use of our kayaks are included in your stay - paddle out to the ocean and back for an amazing time on the water!
