Come stay at our peaceful guest suite where you can walk to the gorgeous beach in minutes! It’s only half a mile from the closest beach access as well as grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, ice cream shops, bars & parks. After a day relaxing at the beach or visiting local sites, you’ll love using our outdoor shower(w/ hot & cold water) & sitting outside in our private guest sitting area with your fav evening beverage. We’d love for your happy beach memories to be made here at our cottage by the sea, The Whimsy Whale. Our island cottage is perfectly placed under a canopy of magnificent live oaks, about 300 steps away from the ocean. Nestled on a quiet beach access street, central to all the best attractions, shopping and eateries on Oak Island; close to attractions in Southport. It is one of our favorite places to spend time together and we look forward to sharing it with you, your loved ones and friends.

Newly renovated, refreshingly colorful, and fully stocked with everything you need for a rejuvenating stay at the beach. Enjoy a perfect oceanfront family getaway on Oak Island's West Beach. This 2nd level unit of our beach house has separate entrance, two bedrooms, one bathroom, and sleeps six guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, full size fridge, microwave, stove/oven, and dishwasher. Welcome to island living!! Sparkling clean, quiet private suite that is loaded with beachy charm. On site: TV, wifi, microwave, refrigerator, tea/coffeemaker and spacious bathroom with shower. Only a 5 minute drive/bike ride to any of Oak Island's 64 free beach accesses. One block off the island's main street, and close to all the restaurants & shopping. Owners live on site & are happy to answer any questions & provide information about the island, restaurants & local attractions.

If you love being a short walk to the beach this place is for you! . We provide beach chairs and a cart for your 5 minute walk to beach. Eat in kitchen and you can serve your honey breakfast in bed. Farmers market around the corner in the summer months as well as concerts every Friday night, Tennis courts, pickle ball and splash pad in the same area to cool you off. We offer Wi-Fi and Roku. . Gas fire place on back porch. Indoor fireplace use is seasonal.

Oak Island beaches are a short one-mile walk or drive away. We offer a 6-seater electric golf cart with a pre-paid parking pass to rent by the day. You must be over 21 to operate it.
