Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Vivian Seaside Villa With Sauna

Welcome to the seaside vacation home!This independently accessible suite with sauna is located on the ground floor of a seaside villa at the eastern end of Victoria. With the sea right outside the window, you have the opportunity to admire the marine life and natural landscapes depicted in the property photos. Morning, lie in bed and enjoy the spectacular sunrise; Evening, on the terrace, admire the sunset and the moon over the sea. Here,you can experience deep relaxation ,delight and surprises.

This is a self contained suite with keypad entry. There is a combo washer & dryer unit in the suite. We also rent our car on Turo! NO PET FEES! 😁 This modern, comfortable, pet-friendly suite is centrally located in a quiet, picturesque neighborhood near parks and trails. We are not within walking distance of downtown, but we very close to bus routes and the Galloping Goose Trail. This is a SMALL space, only 230 sq. ft. ...think tiny home. Our goal is to provide a safe, inclusive, clean environment for one or two folks and their furry travel companions. We have been licensed by regional and provincial authorities.

If relaxation and privacy is what you crave, this unit has a separate entrance and patio/ private hot tub/backyard reserved for your own personal use. This suite is on the ground level of our primary residence, so your hosts reside on the floors above and are readily available if necessary. Although ground level, this suite has high ceilings and large windows providing bright, natural light.
