The Story House

Just steps outside the French doors is a lighted path to the bathhouse (the only bathroom) with toilet, shower, clawfoot tub and washer/dryer. Walk the paths, soak in the hot tub and end your day in the peace and quiet of a private cabin.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of this private woodland retreat, where nature meets thoughtful design. The property boasts an inviting backyard complete with a hot tub, sauna, fire pit, BBQ, and ample seating for gatherings. Sharing land with our house, this charming suite is entirely private & hidden. Our property includes a lush park, tranquil pond, areas to walk around and relax in, and access to the Sandy River. This location is so close to the river that you can hear its soothing and constant flow over and between the rocks.

The Hideout | A Modern Tiny Cabin Near Mt. Hood

The Woodlands Hideout is a small intentional semi-offgrid retreat space, featured on Dwell. It was designed and built by Further Society and created to allow guests to immerse in the beauty of the natural world, but still offer some cozy and more essential comforts. Although the footprint of the space is small, we designed the experience to be outward focussed, so it feels very expansive with the towering pine trees in view.
