Fox and Bird Retreat on Davis Stream

Our off-the-grid, solar-powered cottage is nestled within our 18 acres in the town of Washington, Maine. The cottage borders a beautiful stream, is surrounded by tall pines and is several hundred feet away from our home, providing a very private and serene experience. Guests can wander or snowshoe on our property, relax in the screen house next to the cottage or hang by the accessible fire pit. We are close to many local lakes and hiking trails and only 30 minutes from Camden & Rockland.

You'll have a private entrance and easy access to town which is only half a mile away. Hike right from the cottage to the summit of Mt Battie or Mt Megunticook using the Sagamore Farm trail behind the property. Enjoy the distant Penobscot Bay views and watch the schooners sail by the Fox Island Thoroughfare.

SILVER MOON, a Yurt for All Seasons

Silver Moon at The Appleton Retreat is quite private, check out the Trail Map. This contemporary yurt features a private therapeutic hot tub on the wrap around deck, a fire pit, and fast wifi. Silver Moon is located in a wooded area close to a bog that attracts a variety of wildlife. The Appleton Retreat encompasses 120 acres hosting six unique retreats. To the south is the Pettengill Stream, a resource protected area. To the north is the Nature Conservancy's 1300 acre reserve.

Completely unplug at this silent and stunning off-the-grid cabin situated in the heart of mid coast Maine. Minutes from several lakes, ponds and Penobscot Bay. Birch Hill Cabin is set on the side of a hill, surrounded by almost 8 acres of woods. The cabin is 288 square feet, and the bathroom is detached and located approximately 20 feet from the cabin. A hot tub is conveniently located off the deck for ultimate relaxation! This cabin is tucked away, surrounded by nature! But also conveniently located to so many wonderful spots in the Midcoast!
