Our group of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at The Gryphon. We are an independent, cooperative group and we appreciate being allowed to share in an authentic experience. The Gryphon is truly unique, with great bones, put together by people who care about history, culture and beauty. The setting in Prince Edward County is peaceful, surrounded by water and immersed in natural beauty. The nearby amenities are stellar: one of Canada’s finest chefs, Jamie Kennedy, runs a french fry stand (check out his website for exact location depending on the time of your visit), the wineries (with Hinterland’s offerings being a highlight for us) and the art offerings (Oeno Gallery at Huff Estates is a favourite, especially for its outdoor sculpture garden and pizza restaurant). The owner is responsive but also allows for maximum privacy and independence. We will return and we recommend The Gryphon for a stay in Prince Edward County.

We loved our stay at The Gryphon. I honestly feel the pics online don't do it enough justice, we loved it the moment we walked in! The house itself is more than spacious with high (11'...we had to measure!) ceilings, the beds were all super comfortable, ensuites for every bedroom plus a 6th main floor powder room. The grounds are beautiful, we watched the hummingbirds and butterflies every morning while sipping our coffee on the expansive wrap around covered veranda. The fifth bedroom in the basement is actually a separate suite with a walkout (but also accessible from the main floor) and includes a 2nd kitchen with a super cute little diner type booth, loads of fun! Thanks Shannon for giving us the opportunity to host our small Celebration of Life for our mother who passed away during covid, it was truly a special weekend and the Gryphon was the perfect choice. Can't wait to see the completed Carriage House!

The house was enormous and charming! Shannon was so helpful and lovely. As soon as we walked in we wanted to book it again because we knew our mother would find it enchanting. We had a great weekend, thank you so much!

Shannon's place was perfect for a girls weekend! Such a spacious, beautiful home on a huge property. Everyone had their own washroom and the kitchen was great for making meals together. Shannon was super friendly, communicative and helpful when planning our weekend. I would definitely stay here again!

I had the pleasure of staying at a beautiful house hosted by Shannon, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. The house itself was a treasure trove of antiques, which added a unique and enchanting touch to our stay. Each room had its own well-maintained washroom, providing convenience and privacy for everyone in our group. Shannon's exceptional hosting skills were apparent throughout our stay. She was incredibly proactive, anticipating our needs and ensuring that we had everything we required for a comfortable visit. Moreover, her suggestions for local attractions and activities were spot-on, allowing us to make the most of our time in the area. Thank you, Shannon, for creating such a wonderful retreat and for your outstanding hospitality. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
