This is a beautiful and well-appointed property and the stream behind the house is a real treasure, especially if you like birdwatching. Just make sure that everything works well - we were their first guests of the season and they weren't well prepared for us. In order, we had issues with the trash (not empty upon arrival), the fireplace (couldn't open the hearth door), the hot tub (water was cold), the grill (not cleaned), the vent over the stove (didn't work properly, so cooking smoke set off the fire alarm), outdoor chairs and firepit (still in storage), and the TVs (we never did get them working). That was quite a lot to deal with during a 2 day rental.

Lovely home for a family of six. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the lovely grounds. Very nice home with everything you need.

We had a wonderful time staying at the winery. The property is beautiful and the house is very spacious. Loved the four bathrooms and the hot tub! Kemp is a great host and responded quickly to any questions.

We had a wonderful stay in early August with another couple at Hillier Estates. We rented the entire home. While the offices for the winery and some staff accommodations are on the lower floor, we felt like it was very private. The hospitality was first rate and the accommodations were amazing. The grounds are beautiful. Very impressive, particularly for a new rental. Donna was wonderful to deal with and cooked a gorgeous breakfast both days. Woody was very responsive and saved us from running out of wine on the first night. The wine itself was delicious and we really appreciated the tasting upon arrival hosted by Kemp. With the private suites, breakfast and wine tasting included, this was a terrific value. We hope to be back soon and would highly recommend this rental. A few tips: we thought the Hillier Estates Pinot Noir and unoaked Chardonnay were particularly good. We also would recommend Huff Estates and Waupoos for the wine and tasting experience (Waupoos is a bit farther away). Getting around: We used "ridewithnancy" as a designated van driver for the afternoon and had good service at a very good rate. We also used the local Uride rideshare app to go out to dinner in Wellington and the drivers were great. It takes a little longer to summon a car than you might be used to with Uber in an urban area (up to a half-hour for us), but it was a very good service and excellent price compared to other options. Cabs weren't operating in the evenings. Thanks for everything, Kemp!
