Our villa experience was marvelous because of the kind attention of our host, Annagloria. She went above and beyond in so many respects including a welcome dinner upon arrival, flowers throughout the villa, helping to arrange for the band, caterers, etc. for our 40th wedding anniversary celebration, reserving for tennis, reserving parking in Florence, and so much more. Additionally, the villa is lovely, and having a daily cleaning service was very appreciated. The grounds of the villa and seating areas are very conducive to fostering conversation and time together as a family. The vistas are breathtaking and the church bells comforting. I highly recommend this villa and its host!

Annagloria and Enzo were great hosts and made our 50th anniversary celebration a truly wonderful experience. The string quartet and the dinner for 25 planned with Annagloria was perfect. And being invited to the local pot-luck dinner was also a special treat. The villa itself is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The kitchen (with its industrial dishwasher and stove) withstood the onslaught of the many avid cooks among our guests. Loved the villa's own wine and olive oil. The location between Siena and Florence was ideal for trips around northern Tuscany. And the guided trip to Pisa and Lucca arranged by Annagloria was great.

This villa is amazing...stay here! Historic and well located yet superbly spacious and comfortable. Our three generational family of 11 loved dining alfresco, listening to the nearby bell tower songs and exploring the area. Annagloria and Enzo were extraordinary hosts. Their recommendations for chef, Florence guide Riccardo Nesti, and fabulous lyric opera performance were perfect!

A group of 5 couples from Australia have just enjoyed a fantastic week at Villa Castellare de Sernigi celebrating our 60th birthdays. What a beautiful villa Annagloria has created. Spacious, very comfortable (including great beds), all en suites were well fitted out and the decor is beautiful. A large table to sit at for our meals was adjacent to the well stocked kitchen. The outdoor area is vast and very welcoming. Our host Annagloria suggested some great places to eat and visit - these did not disappoint at all! The local town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa is close by and has a supermarket. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and main cities of Florence and Sienna are very accessible. A very memorable stay by us all - just wish it was longer!

Beautiful and recently refurbished and elegantly renovated ancient farmhouse, sitting atop a crest 1.5km away from Tavarnelle. The location is very good if you want to visit Tuscany as a whole and not only one city: Florence is 40 min away, San Giminiano and Certaldo (as beautiful by way less crowded) are 20 min away, San Miniato (capitol of truffles) and Volterra 45' away, Pisa and Siena 1 h away. The house comprises 7 rooms, a large dining room, 2 living rooms with large sofas, a large kitchen, an outside courtyard with another table under the shadow, and on the other side a large olive plantation where the pool is located. The pool is large and well maintained, and a jacuzzi has been installed this year. Early baths and jacuzzis facing the morning sun are delightful. We had breakfast prepared by a lady, which were very good and full, to the extent that we typically had light lunches afterwards. The rooms are comfortable, with a/c and each a private shower (one bathtub in one room). Note however that the two rooms on the courtyard are in the direction of the tiny church of the hamlet, and the guests with light sleep might hear the bell ringing in the morning from these rooms (not from the other 5). Good beds and pillows, which is bizarrely not always a given in Tuscany. Housekeeping is done every day. AnnaGloria and Enzo our hosts are organizing once a week what we'd call "boutique concerts" at the end of the olive plantation; not a disturbance if you don't want to go given the distance and the declivity - but we recommend that you go ! This week we had a very good rock band playing rock standard to our audience of 60 people, it's been a great time for everyone from 7 to 77 . We understand that the program changes every week and covers the whole of the musical spectrum. We also recommend that you try the Tuesday evening dinner in the streets of the village of Tavarnelle, AnnaGloria will advise you where to go.
