We enjoyed the stay very much. The house is nice and clean and close to the center. We stayed for a Trackday on the Race Track of Mugello and it was perfect. Under 5min to the track by car and a lot of restaurants next to house! Rachel is a very nice host, we will sure come back!
Great place to stay. Right in the middle of town which comes with a bit of noise but that’s to be expected.
The village of Scarperia lies at the foot of the Appenine mountains in the Mugello valley and offers a great base from which you can visit the famous cities and sights of Tuscany, whilst experiencing authentic Italian life away from the main tourist traps.
Although Scarperia is a small village there's lots going on! Events include a market every Friday, an antiques fair the first Sunday of each month and local 'sagre' (food festivals) nearly every week-end during the spring and summer months. There's also the 'Infiorata' on the last Sunday in May, where pictures made of flower petals decorate the main street and piazza.
September is one of the best months to visit where there is something going on almost every night, including the Giornata Rinacimentale (1st Sunday in Sept) where the whole village reinacts life in Renaissance times and the Diotto (8th Sept) where teams from areas within the village complete in the main piazza, after a procession in Renaissance costume.
Travelling by car is easiest, however there are buses into Florence from Scarperia or you can catch a train from San Piero a Sieve. San Piero is a 5 minute drive away from Scarperia and it takes 34 minutes by train to Firenze SMN. There is free parking at the San Piero train station.
自我介绍
I'm from the UK but I've lived in Italy for over 20 years now. I originally came for one year but loved it so much I decided to stay. I'm married to an Italian and have two children. I love meeting people from all over the world through Airbnb (as a host and as a guest) and I'm happy to help with ideas for things to do in the area, restaurant bookings, train/bus times, or whatever else you may need in order to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
