Great place to stay if you just want to get the provisions in and then hardly leave the place, but a bit difficult to come and go due to the bad road for the final kilometre. Idyllic location as long as you can deal with all the lake flies. Staff very friendly and helpful and helped us organise a cook who was brilliant especially if you want to experience local cuisine. On the whole the property was brilliant but the inside shower pressure wasn't great and could definitely do with improving but the outside was lovely.

Our family was so refreshed after staying 10 days at Casa Turaco. The lake view is therapeutic for city-dwellers like us and our kids felt free to run and play in the large yard. The house was well furnished, the host was responsive to our questions and the local manager was knowledgeable and helpful. It was just as advertised and just what we needed. One fun bonus is the outdoor, private shower where you can enjoy the lake view -- or the stars-- as you shower! We would definitely go again!

Roger's eco-house in Garuga is a dreamlike haven, seamlessly blending comfort, nature, and inspiration. The captivating lake view unfolded before us, creating an epic sense of tranquility. A hidden stone bench on the lakefront served as our private sanctuary, offering a front-row seat to the mesmerizing watery landscape. Time seemed to stand still as we immersed ourselves in the soothing sounds of flora and fauna, alone with nature. Roger & his children have crafted a paradise where the house seamlessly integrates into East Africa's semi-wild lush greenery. The occasional visits from harmless creatures and dazzling birds added authenticity to our stay. We embraced the songs, reveled in the company of our nature's friends, and let this African haven inspire our souls
