We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marmalade cottage. Beautiful location with lots to do nearby, and the cottage was charming and cosy and had everything we needed.

The cottage was exactly as described, very clean, comfortable and quiet. We especially enjoyed our early evening drinks on the raised decking looking at the lovely view. Julie and Colin were unobtrusive but available if anything was required. Even the delicious home-grown tomatoes appeared on our doorstep without fanfare! The location provided easy access by car to all parts of the island - for visiting places such as the Botanical Gardens, Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle and the Needles. The local area of Culver Down, as viewed from the decking, is stunning and worth repeat visits. Having booked fairly last minute, we feel very lucky that we found this gem.

A perfect stay for us and our 2 year old! Great location, walkable to a couple of pubs (one with a play park outside and a soft play inside), a small shop, a fish & chip shop, the train station and bus stops. A lovely beach is just a five minute drive down the road and the cottage is close to a number of great attractions and days out. The cottage itself was clean and tidy. It was very well equipped and included a whole upstairs landing packed full of toys. Our daughter was in her element and absolutely loved it! There was also a stair gate and highchair available for her. There was lots of private outdoor space, including a comfortable decking area with great views. Julie was fast to respond to messages and greeted us when we arrived. She was very helpful and could be contacted easily if needed, but otherwise we didn’t really see her and couldn’t hear anything (or be heard) through the walls. All in all a lovely holiday cottage perfect for a small family.

We spent a lovely week here with our 4yo and almost 2yo. The standout feature for us was the terrace with incredible views where we spent every evening once the children were asleep! We hadn't realised the terrace was separate to the building but our baby monitor easily had signal and you can see the front entrance to the property from it. It felt very safe and secure. Our children loved waving to the horses and pony in the field next door every morning. They also loved the many toys, books and puzzles provided in the house plus the pirate ship and swings outside. It was very easy to find and perfectly located for exploring the island.

We had a wonderful week staying at Marmalade Cottage. The cottage was beautifully equipped, clean and well laid out with an amazing selection of toys, books and games - if you have young children, they will be very well entertained! It was perfect for our 3 and 7-year-olds and they also enjoyed the outside swings, play rowboat and grass space. The kitchen has everything you need (including dishwasher and washing machine) and the bathroom is huge. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay. In the local area there are plenty of attractions within a short drive and sandy beaches are a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk away (Yaverland is a bit closer than Sandown and quieter). If you are travelling with children, The Bugle Inn is also worth visiting for its indoor softplay corner and outdoor play area which allow for a relaxing meal with entertained children. It's a 10 minute walk from the cottage into Brading centre.
