Tuvimos una estadía bastante tranquila y cómoda, el personal de servicio siempre estuvo atento y a la orden. El lugar es cómodo, limpio y bastante amplio. Definitivamente volvería.

The villa is gorgeous, spacious and the housekeeper services are a huge addition. Make sure to ask for Carmen as she's truly a wonderful woman - caring, kind, and always happy to help. She kept the villa super clean daily (9-5), made the beds, washed linens and towels, cooked wonderful meals for us, and was a pleasant to be around. The outdoor space is unbelievably comfortable and spacious, with ample (and comfy) sitting space - and it's all shaded, which is a huge plus. The pool and jacuzzi are wonderful, though be sure to get instructions on how to operate the system and be sure that the heater is really working prior to arrival (sadly, it was not the case for us and we missed two days of jacuzzi and pool; Luis was kind enough to refund one night, but we'd much rather pay for our stay and enjoy the amenities). Also be sure to get (correct!) instructions on how to alternate between the pool and jacuzzi as it took us 4.5 days to obtain correct instructions (and we were thus unable to use the pool during that time as it was too cold). Further, we hope that the owners will see that this does not require going down a steep ladder to an unlit underground area to switch the valves, as this was an unpleasant and unsafe experience, more so in the dark. As for the bedrooms: the master and second room are very spacious, and the 3rd room (queen size) is not large but totally adequate. All beds are very comfortable and the layout it great. Having 3 full bathrooms is also a huge plus, and Carmen made sure the villa was kept clean and tidy. On a side note, the kitchen is not on par with the rest of the house - it is outdated, there's no AC, and the amenities (stove, fridge, pots, pans) are in huge contrast to the rest of the house. As for the location: the resort is very big and well kept. If you're into golfing it's definitely a great spot for you. We do not golf but really enjoyed the peace and quiet (and safety!) the resort has to offer. It is located about a 10 minute drive from Juan Dolio beaches, so for us it worked out well. If you like being where the "action" is, you may want to look for places closer to the beach. We prefer more secluded locations and had a car so driving to restaurants at night wasn't an issue. All in all, once the amenities were fully operational on the 5th day of our 10 day stay, we had a wonderful time! Having the beautiful outdoor space, spacious home, Carmen's wonderful services, the safe location and the working pool and jacuzzi all made for a great stay. Gracias Luis for hosting us.

Our family had a very nice and relaxing time at the villa. The setting is beautiful and quiet, perfect for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The house is very spacious and the bedrooms comfortable. Luis is a great host. He met us on our first day, and gave us a tour of the area, showed us some of the stores, and local restaurants, and answered our questions. His English is perfect, so there is no language barrier whatsoever. Throughout the stay, Luis was great at keeping in touch and responded promptly to any needs or questions we had. Minerva, the maid, was very sweet, and made every effort to make our stay smooth and enjoyable. She made coffee and served a delicious breakfast each morning. We purchased the ingredients at several local stores in Juan Dolio, and a very nice new convenience store (Ole) in Boca Chica. Minerva also helped out by doing laundry, prepared meals when needed, and kept the house neat. The weather was perfect, so our children took full advantage of the pool and the beautiful back yard with plenty of outdoor seating areas. Since our family golfs, we would take a short 5 minute walk to the club house, and do a round of golf or use the driving range. The Gary Player designed golf course at Guavaberry is very nice and the caddies are good and generally communicate fine in English. Overall, our family had a great first trip to the D.R. and are very thankful for the care and outstanding hospitality by Luis!
