Saint Jean de Duras is a small village in the Aquitaine region on the border of the Lot et Garonne and the Dordogne. The bastide towns of Eymet, Sainte Foy la Grande, Duras and Miramont de Guyenne are all only 10 minutes away from Simply Bed and Breakfast.
Referred to as “The Tuscany of France” you will be stunned by the beauty of the rolling hills with many castles around, the Bastide towns with their lovely farmer’s markets and the Dordogne river flowing gently through it all. In combination with the relaxing atmosphere at Simply Canvas, you will find that the area is very much able to fulfil your needs for some culture or a nice stroll on a farmer’s market. Taste some wine at one of the many wine chateaux in the neighbourhood (there are also a few organic ones). The lovely town of Bergerac is only 20km away. If you would like to enjoy a day out full of culture, then the city of Bordeaux will ensure just that with its finest restaurants and art galleries. In many places you will find access to the Dordogne river or to the Garonne with areas for lovely walks, picnics along the riverbanks, boat tours, or even a whole day of caoeing. If after all this you still hunger for more, take an evening out to sample the regional goodies at a night market, or you can play golf on one of the nearby golf courses, visit one of the many brocante markets and find yourself something special as a souvenir. Of course, you have to try one of the many "fetes", that the local villages are famous for and of which there are plenty to choose from.

We are situated in the countryside. There is no public transport nearby. The closest trainstation is Sainte Foy la Grande (15km). You will need your own transport.
