Jerry was very attentive to our needs and a great communicator. The house is lovely and a very special place. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kilmacot house. Beautiful countryside also!!!

Jerry and his wife were so welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The communication with Jerry was spot on. The location is beautiful and our boys had the best time. Would recommend anyone to stay in this accommodation. You couldn't ask for more.

Jerry's house is fantastic. It's truly a magical place for those who love nature, history, the countryside, the beach, etc. It's rare to have the opportunity to stay in a 200-year-old farmhouse that has been beautifully restored and is full of charm. The house itself is spotlessly clean and has everything needed for comfort. It's situated well off the road and is surrounded by orchards, tall trees, fields and a lovely farmyard. The kids loved blackberry picking in the lane, spotting rabbits, falcons, hawks, etc., and having lots of space to run around. The beach is beautiful, with a long strand stretching from Morriscastle to Curracloe that is very safe for swimming and is heavenly for walks at anytime, but especially at sunrise or sunset. We loved the seals and the swallows flying in and out of their nests in the cliffs. Blackwater itself is a charming village and Wexford town is an easy drive and a lovely place to spend the day. We took a couple of interesting historic walking tours there. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside immensely. We loved Tintern Abbey and Colclough Garden, and a trip to Hook Head Lighthouse (800 years old) shouldn't be missed. There's also the Kennedy Homestead and many more attractions within about an hour's drive. We also rented bikes and rode the Waterford Greenway, which I'd highly recommend. You certainly won't be bored at Kilmacot. And at the end of the day, what a pleasure to sit by the peat fire and read or watch T.V. We were very sad to leave this lovely Wexford farmhouse and can't wait for our next visit. Jerry is an exceptionally nice and helpful host. We can't thank him enough for his hospitality. Perfect experience in every way!

Jerry is a great host; he really made sure that we had everything we needed. The house is in a tranquil location off the main road, but is still an excellent base for exploring Wexford. Everything about the house was perfect for our trip. Thanks, Jerry!

This place was great. The photos do not do the setting justice. Set in rolling green fields and down a grassy track - this place is a quintessential rural retreat. Of course, it is only minutes drive from either Blackwater or Kilmuckridge and less than 25 into Wexford Town. The beaches around this area are wonderful - Morriscastle, Ballinesker and Curracloe. I could not recommend it enough. Every morning we had breakfast outside, the house has so many aspects that it is possible to get sun all day long. There are plenty of little areas including an orchard to shield from the breeze. We had a bbq many nights! Those days when it was a little cooler, we ate inside but lit the fire in either the dining or sitting room. It was very cosy. Jerry met us at the house and had everything ready for us. He let us know that he had just cleaned the chimneys so everything was in tiptop shape. Felt very welcome and at home in the house. Very good if you have children or if you are looking for a rural retreat to use as a base for cycling, walking or relaxing!! Peaceful and quiet with so much space.
