Kovilakam Resort is on the bank of Vembanad, a traditional Kerala-style bungalow, aesthetically done. The views of the lake are amazing. I could spend hours in the morning watching the sunrise over the Vembanad and the fishermen in action. There are huge lawns around the property for kids to play. The place was clean. The caretaker Manoj was very helpful. He guided us with local tips and suggestions. It's a great place to relax with family and friends. The only thing that could improve is the food: though the quantity and variety were great, the taste could have been better. The breakfast was good, but dinner was ordinary (especially given how delicious everything is in Kerala). Would enthusiastically recommend it for large groups.

The place was great, but the manager with whom we had direct interactions (not Leela) was not very good. He was making direct comments about how he was expecting foreigners (missing out of hefty tips may be). Things did not improve in anyway from that point. We did not pay this much amount to be treated like that by a resort manager. Was showing a 'do not disturb me for that' attitude most of the times. Verdict: Place is great. Unreal ambience. Owners should match it with a good manager.

Good location. Nice staff..Air conditioning breaks down unexpectedly in few of the rooms and they could not fix it .. spring beds are of poor quality.. hard water, not good for bath.. I can’t justify the service for the premium that customers have to pay ..

It is an amazing place to be with your family. Getting all that space without anyone is just what u need to spend quality time with your loved ones. The rooms were beautiful as well as the scenery. The staff were also friendly and hospitable. The host was also an amazing person checking up on everything we asked for.
