Radiantly restored historic house built in 1866 on the "Prettiest street in the South." My 3 Bedroom / 3 Bath home will afford you the comfort and luxury of experiencing Savannah like a local in the center of the historic district steps from all the sights. **Please send an inquiry before booking. I generally have a 3-night weekend minimum and I don't generally start or stop reservations on Saturdays** Short Term Vacation Rental Permit - SVR-00347 A two-story, 3 Bedroom / 3 Bath home with a remodeled kitchen, courtyard, and two parking spaces. Original heart pine floors, exposed brick walls, ten-foot ceilings, four non-working original fireplaces, authentic Victorian furniture and decor, gas lamps, a peaceful courtyard, and all the modern amenities which allow you to relax in the charm of the 'Hostess City." The open double parlor (living room and dining room) is a perfect place to relax in the comfortable leather couches or to eat your home-cooked meal. Off of the remodeled kitchen there is a cozy den that can be converted into a 4th bedroom using the murphy bed. The tranquil courtyard is recently rebuilt and landscaped, giving shade in the summer, and full of sun during the winter, where you can enjoy your morning coffee, eat a meal, or just take things slow like a local, sipping on your favorite drinks. The back bedroom has a balcony on the second floor overlooking the courtyard (and the St. Paddy's Day Parade route), which is great for sunbathing. Two of the full bathrooms are upstairs: The master bath has a shower, and the bathroom shared by the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms has a tub/shower. The third full bathroom is downstairs. It has a tub with a handheld showerhead.
Terrific location. The house had real charm. The instructions from Powell were detailed and helpful.
This was a beautiful home on East Jones St. It was clean and spacious and had plenty of room for our whole family. It is within walking distance of most everything to do in Savannah. Clary’s is next door and a great spot for breakfast or lunch. Definitely worth another visit. We hope to be back soon.
Beautiful, cozy, and centrally located home within walking distance of pretty much everything. Cute decor, comfortable beds, and the courtyard made for a great place to hang out after a long day of exploring. We tried a number of recommendations from Powell’s books— all of which were great.
Great place to stay in Savannah! Close to everything but on a quiet street. Couldn’t be happier with the accommodations! A great stay!! Definitely recommend! Worked well with my mother with mobility issues as it has its own parking spots and only 2 steps to get in to main level which she was able to negotiate without much trouble with her walker! Again highly recommend!
As stated above the house is located on historic Jones St putting it almost perfectly in the center of the historic district, within minutes on foot to top attractions. The house is located next door to the famous Clary's Cafe, a superb century-old diner that was one of the central locations in the novel and movie, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil; and across the street from the Tish Mansion, the second most expensive house to ever sell in downtown Savannah.
In less than five minutes you can walk to many great attractions including idyllic Forsyth Park (the prettiest city park I have seen), the Mansion of Forsyth (one of the nicest hotel bars in town), Mrs. Wilkes House (the best friend chicken I have ever had), Crystal Beer Parlor (another century old establishment that used to be a speak easy, serving the best burgers in town), Six Pence (the best pub food in town), Griffin Tea Room (an old apothecary turned into a English tea room with one of the best brunches in town, Piny Master's (considered one of the best bars in the south with a very interesting history; a very laid back casual spot), Mcdonough's Irish Pub (my favorite bar with Karaoke every night), St. John the Baptist Cathedral and Congregation Mickve Israel Synagogue (two must see architectural beauties), The Mercer-Williams house (the main setting of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil), and many more coffee shops, bars, restaurants and attractions. Most of the other downtown/historic district attractions and restaurant/bars are no more than a 10-15 minute walk, with the farthest few only being 20 minutes. For example, the famous River Street is only a 15 minute walk or less from where you will be staying.
You will be a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport. You will have your own private parking spot in the back driveway, but you probably won't need to use your vehicle the entire weekend, as there is no where in downtown Savannah that is more than a 20 minute walk with most attractions being less than 5-10 minutes away on foot.
