Jens place is an old carriage house. There are several rotted boards upstairs, and the trim that holds the Chain for the door is connected to loose trim. There is also a security issue as everyone uses the same lock codes. The codes and address are listed for you to see as soon as you book her place. This made us feel very unsafe. The doors are also hard to lock as the the lock on the handles are very hard to turn. The cabinets in the kitchen are falling apart. We knocked the shelf back up several times (only had tea on it) The place had cob webs and dirty dishes. all the dishes, silverware and pans had to be cleaned before we could use them. There is maybe 1 window that has blinds on it. The rest of the windows are open so you have no privacy to change unless you change in the bathroom. There’s no outside lights except from the hotel that shine right into the bed. The pillows are very flat and we received one trash bag for the week. H20 pressure is very high. Hot water runs out fast.

Wow. What a great space, structural brick outbuilding converted very tastefully into a modern loft apartment space. conveniently located on the edge of town but with a very private feel and with the S Arkansas River in the backyard.

We had such a great stay at Jen’s cottage! Tucked away in a private oasis by the river, yet easy access to everything Salida has to offer. Highly recommend!
