There are three places to stay: two lodges and one studio. We stayed in one of the lodges which had a spacious lounge/diner and kitchenette, a double bedroom and two single beds on a mezzanine floor accessible via a ladder. The lodges are located on the land behind the Peiter's lovely house. There is room to park and it is a very short walk to the banks of the Rhine. The location is peaceful and secluded. The lodge we stayed in was beautifully appointed and had all the necessary equipment. It was warm and cosy. Nearby Leiden, to the west, is one of the Netherland's great university towns, with lots of really great cafes, bars and restaurants, interesting museums, picturesque canals and things to see and do. If you drive to Leiden, make sure to look up the rules on parking before you go. They're very strict and parking is expensive - but there is a bus stop right over the road from the property so you could get the bus! We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

The Lodges near the Rhine are a perfect place for a weekend getaway to get back to basics. Our host Pieter was very accommodating, when we wanted to stay in the other cottage for the weekend, as it had a bigger garden for our two shepherds (German and Malinois). The place is beautiful and quiet, except for the birds and the chicken running around in the garden. We received a lot of recommendations to visit with our two dogs, which you will be able to find in the guestbook ;-).

Wij waren daar onverwacht voor werk en moesten op korte termijn nog een slaapplek regelen ...binnen een uur geregeld bij deze lieve gast vrije mensen en hun geweldige lieve hond..heerlijk gespeeld en geknuffeld met me nieuwe beste vriend! verder is gewoon alles keurig netjes voor elkaar !!! alles schoon ...alles genoeg ...je kan heerlijk buiten zitten ... aanrader ! wij komen graag terug
