Comfortable well equipped property in a beautiful location

It's rare to find a holiday rental which is not only better in reality than on screen, but which continues to get better the longer you stay - this apartment is that rarity. As other reviews have noted, the view from the patio is fabulous – I'm already missing my coffee with the sunrise – but what makes this place unique is the atmosphere. The host, Kostas, and his family are lovely; they're there if you need them, not if you don't – a relaxed ethos which makes for a truly chilled holiday. We loved cycling along by the sea into Lixouri on the bikes provided, or walking to eat in the square at night. There's a supermarket in easy reach and a great beach café just up the road (or along the shore - bring rubber sea shoes if you're into snorkelling and swimming). There's a kayak at your disposal... And if you're into early morning swims, you'll have the sea to yourself. Bliss. Kostas's recommendations for trips further afield were spot on, too. We hope to return.

Wir haben im Juni 2023 zwei Wochen als Familie mir zwei kleinen Kindern in der Unterkunft verbracht. Kostas ist ein sehr freundlicher und hilfreicher Gastgeber. Zur Begrüßung gab es nicht nur hilfreiche Tipps zu Aktivitäten und guten Tavernen, sondern auch noch leckeres selbstgemachtes Olivenöl. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas außerhalb von Lixouri direkt am Meer und hat direkten Strandzugang. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und auf dem Grundstück gibt es nur noch drei weitere Apartments. Die Nachbargrundstücke sind unbewohnt. Sonnenschirme, Liegen und Kinderspielzeug stehen zur Verfügung. In der Wohnung ist die Küche gut ausgestattet und Kostas hat uns viele nützliche Dinge für den Aufenthalt mit einem Kleinkind zur Verfügung gestellt (Babybett, Hochstuhl,...). Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit auf Kefalonia. Die Insel ist herrlich und im positiven Sinne ursprünglicher als andere Reiseziele, die wir (auch in Griechenland) kennen. Das Urlaubsziel und die Unterkunft können wir absolut empfehlen.

The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing family holiday. Convenient location for beautiful beaches (we enjoyed Petani and Lagkadakia the most for scenery and snorkelling), fantastic garden space for kids and badminton (rackets provided by host), and a nearby supermaket. The view from the verandah was beautiful. Kostas gave us some fantastic tips about where to go for site- seeing and good reasonably priced food. The grill (walking distance up the road) is a must. We are hoping to be back one day!

Myself and my partner booked the ground floor apartment of this beautiful beach house and I have to say it was an absolute joy. It felt a bit extravagant for just the 2 of us as it's big enough for a family of 6, but I don't regret it for one second as it's the best Airbnb I've ever stayed in (and I've stayed in plenty !) The apartment was lovely and spacious and beautifully equipped. I wandered across the back lawn and straight onto the secluded beach every morning for a swim - there's even a kayak ! Kostas and his wife, Vicki, were easily contactable and most helpful throughout our stay. In fact Kostas's quick response to messages and help and advice about local tavernas, beaches and places of interest are an invaluable part of the whole package. Along with that Kefalonia is a beautiful island and the usual Greek hospitality and friendliness can be found in abundance. Honestly, this place is a real gem.
