We had a wonderful time staying at Kathie’s place. The location is quiet but very convenient, right by bus and ferry station. Compared to popular Hamilton or Southshore area, me and my friend love here somerset village more. It feels more peaceful and local. 1. There are several good restaurants nearby. We would recommend Woody’s for wahoo sandwich and Pomodoro for some pizza/chicken wings/pasta/bakery. 2. For snorkeling, the Sugar Cane Beach nearby(1 min walking)is definitely a hidden gem — lots of fish and coral reefs to see in shallow calm water. 3. Highly Recommend: go to H2O watersports (around 15min walking)that rents kayak, paddles and boat. We kayak to a small island and snorkel there. The scenery was amazing. Not to mention that Kathie and her husband are the kindest ppl. They give us a free ride to the market to do groceries. And her husband even gave us fresh cucumbers from his garden. All in all we really had a great time here and would def recommend to anyone!

Both Kathie and her husband were absolutely kind and welcoming. The communication was easy, the access on the property too. The apartment, facing the water, is located near a bus station and a ferry dock which had been super convenient to travel and explore the island. I was also able to have my coffee over sunrise on the little private deck by the water. Kathie’s husband also has an amazing garden and made me a small tour of all he’s been cultivating. He has passionate stories that I loved to listen to. He also made me a small bucket of vegetables for my departure which was highly appreciated. If you are looking for a local, laidback stay along with true amazing people, you got it.

My list of things that I look for when stay anywhere includes AC, laundry facilities, plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the shower, TV that includes ESPN, and a convenient location. Kathy's place ticked all the boxes. Very convenient location, clean and comfortable apartment, and Kathy's a great host. I wouldn't hesitate in going back.
