This is one of the best places to stay in Newburyport. I grew up in Newburyport and everything is exactly as described in the listing. You're a super short drive/bike ride to Plum Island. And only a 5 minute walk to downtown with all it's charm and stores to jump into, the boardwalk on the river, numerous walking trails, countless restaurants, sub/pizza shops, nightlife, convenience stores/liquor stores, The Tannery Market Place for shopping and most everything you would want when traveling. The house itself is quintessential Newburyport. Older--but certainly not as old as many of the houses in the area. And as others mentioned in their reviews, the stairs are steep. It was no problem for me though. All my friends and family have stairs like these in the Newburyport area. The washer and dryer in the house was very helpful. And I really appreciated the bottle of wine! No problem parking. There's always spots available on the street and it's free. As somebody who grew up NBPT and visits numerous times a year, I give this 12 YEATS out of 10 YEATS (YEAT is a Newburyport word: (https://definedictionarymeaning.com/topic/62395/yeat) I wouldn't stay anywhere else. This is the the best deal on town.

Kathie was a fantastic host who went above and beyond to ensure an easy and comfortable stay. With lovely touches such as treats in the fridge and local information, we had a great place to stay.

Perfect location. Very walkable to downtown shops and nearby parks (Joppa and Hale park). Well-stocked kitchen. Lots of food, coffee, etc. if you didn’t food-shop on the way in. Overall, a very nice stay.

Kathie was the perfect host and had everything ready for me for an extended stay. Quick and easy communication with great local recommendations. The bedroom is very cozy with a comfortable bed. Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus. Easy walk to town and a short drive or bike ride to beach. Can’t wait to stay again!
