A gem! I chose to book Miranda's because of the proximity to Highclere Castle, (and because of the pool!), as a surprise for my daughter's 14th birthday. Island Heron was easy to find following Miranda's instructions and a wonderful location. Plendy of space to park and we received a very warm, genuine welcome from Miranda. Our room was comfortable & homely with a wonderful large, hot shower in the ensuite, in a lively character house (Mind the steep stairs). The pool is absolutely fantastic, in a pretty, private garden. If only the weather had been better we would have stayed in it all night! Breakfast was delicious and throughout our (sadly too short) stay I noticed many little extras, showing thoughtfulness & attention to detail. The best part of the whole stay though was Miranda herself. A lovely lady.

Miranda was great and room was perfect for a couple of nights. The breakfast that was included was delicious and filled us up for the day. We would definitely return.

Miranda is a 10/10 host: friendly, approachable, very helpful, good sense of humour. Lovely dogs, lovely premises. Even though the weather wasn’t wonderful she opened the pool for us daily so we could have our cold morning swim. Thank you so much Miranda! Hopefully we’ll meet again.

Miranda's home was lovely and she was an excellent host! Very friendly and welcoming. Our room was immaculate and the garden with swimming pool set in the countryside was an added bonus (as were her friendly dogs). We had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Amazing from the first moment, pulling onto the drive in front of the farmhouse, Miranda greeted me like an old friend. ushering me in, she offered an Earl Grey by the pool. The pool was delightful, the gardens peaceful and the lounger comfortable. I had a wonderful night's sleep, the bed was so comfortable and the bed linen was beautiful. I had any number of tea and coffee options in my room with a kettle and mugs. Water and glasses on the bedside table. The large bathroom housed a good size shower cubical with good water pressure, got to have a decent shower! Breakfast didn't disappoint, two course and Miranda offered options. What a lovely place and a lovely lady. I hope to return in the future. A real gem of a find, thank you Miranda for your wonderful hospitality.
