Immersed in nature yet only moments from downtown Montpelier, our home offers the best of Vermont. This property is incredibly private and peaceful yet just 3 miles from all major amenities. The song birds are abundant in the summer and you can enjoy gorgeous, peaceful sunsets from the deck.

This was my favorite place ever. From the time I walked in, it felt like a retreat away from home. It’s in a gorgeous setting, and the interior is just perfect. We loved our stay here, and hope to come back.
Extremely charming cottage. Lovely touches. Incredible view. Cozy spaces. Super comfy king-size bed. Very secluded yet super accessible to Montpelier- less than 10 mins! Beautiful hikes and walks right out the door. East Montpelier trail system is fantastic! Lisa was easy to communicate with. It was a refuge and sanctuary away from our busy lives. We’d love to return!

What a beautiful, clean, cozy house, exactly as described. It's really the best of both worlds. It's just a few minutes from Montpelier and highways but when you're there you feel secluded on a beautiful mountainside with an amazing view and trails right in the backyard. I saw deer in the yard every day I was there. Plus as a music nerd I loved that there was a turntable so I could bring records from home and dig in to my new purchases from VT's wonderful record stores. I desperately want to stay there again!

All of our neighbors are kind people who enjoy community gatherings, the outdoors, and helping each other. Our immediate neighbor has a small farm stand with a greenhouse. You can just walk down the driveway to get fresh produce practically all year round! You can walk 1 mile down the road to a lovely swimming pond and say hello to our neighbors' goats along the way if you like.
You will need your own vehicle to make the 5-minute drive into downtown Montpelier. From there, public buses travel to Stowe where there are spas and ski resorts. Buses also travel to Burlington, our state's largest city, which is known for its excellent restaurants, wonderful performing arts center, science and art museums, and live music. Downtown Montpelier has an excellent year-round farmers market, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, shopping, activities for kids, and more.
You are moments from wonderful lakes and rivers for canoeing and swimming in the summer and you can enjoy all winter sports just out the front door!

My name is Lisa Mase (pronounced ‘Leeza Mahzay’). I am a nutritionist and herbalist. I grew up between the Italian Adriatic Sea and the Northern Dolomites that define the border between Italy and Austria. Then, I went to high school in Kansas City, and came to Vermont to attend Middlebury College. I would be happy to prepare meals for your stay if you like. I am trained as a translator and a writer and I grew up cooking everything from scratch with my dad and my grandmother. Our family began choosing herbal remedies after my parents discovered that I was allergic to most antibiotics. My upbringing has influenced me to become an herbalist and a nutritionist. I live through my love of cooking, writing, and community, and nature. I put these passions into practice daily by: delving into the etymology of words, writing and translating; experimenting with cooking techniques; stepping outside to walk the fragrant forests; working in the garden with chickens, vegetables, flowers, fruit trees and medicinal herbs.
