Das Haus, der Pool und der Garten sind toll. Wir haben uns grundsätzlich sehr wohl gefühlt und eine super Woche in Orte verbracht. Was störend war, waren die Hunde, die frei herumgelaufen sind und nachts teilweise laut gebellt haben. Es gibt viele schöne Ausflugsziele in der Nähe und auch Rom ist nicht weit.

Meine Familie und ich haben eine wunderschöne Zeit verbracht in Casale Hortensiae. Elisabeth und Michele haben durch die Pizza Party definitiv für einen echten traditionell italienischen Wow-Effekt gesorgt den wir nicht mehr vergessen werden. Das Haus ist 120 Jahre alt, was man natürlich merkt. Dafür hat es aber sehr viel Charme und wir würden definitiv wieder unseren Sommerurlaub dort verbringen. Die dort lebenden Tiere wie Hühner, Hunde, Katzen und Esel sind sind nicht störend und ganz besonders die Hunde passen nachts extrem auf das Grundstück auf, was ein sehr angenehmes und sicheres Gefühl vermittelt, da das Haus sehr tief in der Natur liegt.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von insgesamt 9 Leuten - davon 4 Kinder- die das Haus bewohnt haben. Es war insgesamt ein schöner Aufenthalt. Positiv waren die vielen Zimmer und der schöne große Pool, in dem wir wegen der Hitze viel Zeit verbracht haben. Auch Michele und Elisabeth waren freundliche Gastgeber, die stets erreichbar waren. Sie haben sogar eine „Pizzaparty“ am Holzofen organisiert. Die verschiedenen Tiere (Hunde, Katzen, Esel, Hühner) waren für die Kinder toll. Sie hinterlassen aber natürlich auch Spuren. Das Haus hat viel Charakter und Geschichte - allerdings wäre es teils schön gewesen, bessere Kühlung oder Lüftung zu haben. In manchen Zimmer waren die Nächte recht heiß. Der Weg zum Haus ist sehr steil, das sollte man - gerade mit vollgeladenem Auto - berücksichtigen. Die Lage des Hauses war ideal um Ausflüge etc. zu machen - aber auch hier braucht man immer ein Auto. Wir hatten insgesamt aber schöne und interessante Tage in Orte!

We enjoyed our stay at Elisabeth & Michele's home. It felt like going back in time to a stress-free summer like those experienced in childhood. Elisabeth and Michele were lovely, genuinely kind hosts who brought us prosecco and olives to welcome us and provided fresh vegetables from their garden and snacks along the way. If you plan to do anything outside the property – which we definitely recommend, since Orte, Narni, Vasanello & Vitorchiano are nearby – you'll definitely need a car. We decided at the last minute to rent a car in Rome and drive up. Afterwards, everyone agreed it was essential to be able to do everything from dinners out in town to train station pick-ups and grocery runs. This is a working farm with farm animals, multiple pets, and all the action that entails. It was part of the charm for us, but it's worth knowing if you're expecting a resort atmosphere. This is a home that has been lived in and loved, and that made it perfect for us. We would definitely stay again!

Elisabeths place is absolutely authentic and amazing. It lived up to everything we had hoped for. Beautiful surroundings with a nice big pool, fruit trees and lots of space for a big group or family to enjoy time together. There is a lot to see around in the area, and Elisabeth and Michele helped us with great suggestions on where to go. They also booked tables at restaurants and let us lent a baby carseat the whole time, as we didn’t get the right one from the car rental. There is a lot of animals around the house - we had great fun feeding the donkey everyday and especially the kids enjoyed the dogs, cats and chickens running around. One downside is the poop from all the chickens, but it wasn’t a big problem for us. During our stay we had very hot weather and as only one room out of sixs had aircondition it got really hot at night. Some extra fans would have been nice. Elisabeth and Michele care a lot for the environment, so they expect you to garbage sort, use water with precaution and minimize food waste as well of the use of plastic, which of course makes sense to most - but if you are not into doing that, you should not stay at Casale Hortensiae.
