Vi havde et virkelig fantastisk ophold på The Oaks. Huset var stort og føltes hjemligt. Vi blev taget godt i mod af Cecilia, som gav os en rundvisning af huset og udendørs området. Vi ankom på en helligdag, hvor supermarkeder havde lukket, og Cecilia havde været så sød at sørger for at vi kunne klar os til dagen efter. Derudover kom hun flere gange med friske lokale lækkerier som vi nød i fulde drag. Vores unger nød de fantastiske udendørs omgivelser, kør, heste, hunde og høns. En morgen kiggede vi på hønsene og fik friske æg med retur til huset. De elskede det og de elskede poolen. Ingen af os ville hjem, og vi kan klart anbefale huset! Den bedste ferie i de bedste omgivelser. Tak for et fantastisk ophold.
This place has everything you could need or want. More importantly, it is an eye-catching, slightly mad MASTERPIECE. Want to dive off Roman ruins onto a deep, cool pool? Yep, you can do that. Ever want to sleep in a secret apartment built behind a bookcase? Sure thing. Dream of cooking a vast feast, using vegetables from your estate? Well of course (a shout-out here for the sharpest knives I’ve ever seen at an Airbnb). The place is, in short, amazing. Couldn’t be better. I’ll fight you for the booking next August.
This is definitely one of my favorite places I’ve stayed on Airbnb. It feels like somebody’s house, not a hotel, in the best way - full of amazing art and objects and clearly a place where a lot of good times have been had. It’s rustic and a farm setting but also well appointed and lovely. The views are insane the pool is great and the Wi-Fi is way better than the fancy hotel I stayed at in Rome. The lovely host was extremely responsive and helpful and solved any issues right away. I hope to come back next summer!!
Wij zijn hartelijk ontvangen door Cecilia en na een korte rondleiding en uitleg (in het engels, heel fijn) kon het genieten beginnen. Koelkast was gevuld met lekkernijen, dynamisch biologisch producten. Zo attent. Landelijke sfeer in het huis maakt dat je direct thuis voelt.Zwembad is heerlijk koel en verfrissend en groter dan ik mij had voorgesteld. We hebben genoten van het verblijf. Een vergeten zonnebril werd onmiddellijk opgestuurd, wat een service. Cecilia dank je wel.
We had a wonderful stay at The Oaks this week. Cecilia was a dream host, her house is beautifully appointed and the setting is magical - very peaceful in the middle of the countryside. The pool is to die for - deep, cool and refreshing after a day seeing the sites of Lazio and Umbria. Thank you Cecilia!

Conveniently located in northern Tuscia, 30 minutes train from Termini rail station in Rome, this extensive estate is cultivated according to the rules of organic agriculture. Cattle is raised free and grass fed. Nature is unspoiled and wild fauna is easy to spot on summer nights. The Nesbitt family, of British origins, has owned and treasured this land for over a century. The 350 sq.m. house is comfortable, very well equipped , decorated with rare art pieces and sophisticated furniture, there are 4 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, an extensive living room with a floor to ceiling fireplace, maid is available daily.Furthermore, the host can book upon request massage therapyst, a personal trainer for walks or aqua-gym, and a private tour guide to the art and archeological sites of Tuscia and surroundings, last but not least, rare gastronomic experiences. Several choices for dining al fresco. The 16x6 m. swimming pool is built within the remains of a Roman villa, it contains 800 cubic metres of water. Diving from the rocks is safe for children as well for adults. The whole area is of archeological interest. Close to Viterbo, Orvieto, Spoleto, Florence, Orte train station is a crucial stop for most trains headed north or south.
