This is a place that you either love or find very creepy. For us it was the latter. It's artsy, alright, interesting decor, very basic. The "kitchen" has one toaster, one set of cutlery, one wine glass. Airconditioning consists of an open air duct that is very noisy and blows cool air on the bed, even on a cold early spring night. The walls are paper thin so that you can hear every word and other noise that the neighbors make. Positives: The mattress is very comfortable, loved the splash of color by the red fixtures. The space heater in the bedroom actually works surprisingly well with the bedroom door closed. We did not communicate directly with the hosts, but the instructions given for parking and entering the building made sense once we found the place. Would have been helpful to know that the parking lot and entrance are off the street around the corner from the address. Definitely an experience!
This is the 2nd loft we stayed in in this converted old downtown dept store building. Really cool space with such great and interesting decor and art. As other reviews state, it’s very much like staying in an art gallery. It’s very true to loft style so not a kick-back-and-get-super-comfy on the couch kinda place. It was chilly at night and the heating ducts were far from quiet, but that didn’t really bother us. Great coffee place (Iron Coffee) with killer breakfast sandwiches half a block away. Will come back and stay again.
We loved the artsy loft feel of Ilze and Yucel's spot in Hoosick Falls. Very convenient to the lovely Iron Coffee. You can definitely hear your neighbors in other units but this wasn't a detractor for us - it's part of the vibe of being in a cool old building.
The room was just as pictured. The bed was so comfortable! The art was beautiful. The decor was unique and rustic. Minimalist style but had what I needed. It was very quiet. No couch or tv but I didn’t need them. I felt safe and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
A unique and inspiring experience. Yucel is a warm host , and this building is clearly a labor of love and itself a work of art.

Yucel is a Creative Director at a NYC ad agency and artist. Ilze specializes in corporate partnerships for non-profits. We recently moved from NYC to Bennington. Yucel owns the building in Hoosick Falls in which the Airbnb’s are located, above his art gallery, lounge and Byte restaurant. He and Ilze are passionate about design, good food, and sustainability. We love hosting all the interesting guests who enjoy the spaces we’ve designed.
