Our amazing home away from home for a week on Maui! There are at least three turtles either frequent or live around the reefs by the beach right under the lanai. The amazing view of Maalaea bay, Haleakala peak and sailing boats was such a treat. The unit is so well stocked with cooler, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards (yes, plural forms), in addition to house supplies. Will definitely come back again if we visit Maui in the future!

Absolutely stunning view of the ocean, beach, volcano and surrounding islands! Very comfortable condo, pool and grounds were magnificent. The long sandy beach at maalaea is, in my opinion, the best on the island for taking a beach walk or looking for wildlife. Tide pools reveal all kinds of critters with daily sea turtle visits. Public beach is nearby but there were fewer crowds then the once ‘rustic’ beaches in makena. Also there’s a marsh national bird sanctuary nearby. We were a little disappointed with the beach access as it seems some erosion has been damaging the sea wall directly in front of the condo. The best beach access was actually at the public beach which was three buildings away. We also preferred staying in maalaea which was not so crowded but easily accessible to larger towns like Kihei and Lahaina, just FYI maalaea is pretty much directly in the landing path for the airport, it wasnt a problem but it’s something to consider. And again this is not so busy of an area so there’s not a lot of fancy amenities at the beach, it was great for us but just FYI. We thought about not renting a car but we are glad we did since it was an out of the way location (there were 2 or 3 restaurant nearby though as well as the marina and ocean center aquarium so there’s certainly things to do and a bit of the best of both worlds!)
