We really enjoyed our stay in Kingscote. We were close to shops, the waterfront and eateries and could walk to all of the above. The information provided before we arrived was exceptionally helpful and we were able to preplan our visits to most of the island's attractions. The accommodation was clean and easily accessible, and the off street parking was appreciated. The 'apartment' is a smallish room with a bathroom and very basic kitchen facilities, so smaller than we had anticipated. That however, really did not lessen our enjoyment of Kangaroo Island.

I can’t fault it for cleanliness or tidiness, but that is where the good stuff ends. It just feels like the owner does the bare minimum to make your stay special. Firstly, two of the photos are intentionally misleading because they show a food and wine platter. Not only was there no food and wine, but the fridge/cupboards were completely vacant of even the most basic condiments like butter, oil, salt and pepper. The mattress felt cheap. Both my wife and I woke up with a sore back. And worst, in my view, was the owner’s apparent apathy to my travel concerns. On the day we were due to travel to KI the Sealink ferry union were threatening to strike which would have left us stranded on the mainland. I politely asked if we could get a refund in that event but she ignored my question. I would have accepted a ‘no’ answer, but to get silence was completely rude.
