Location and setting are incredible; Tons of space outside and there are plenty of family activities in walking distance. We hosted thanksgiving for our family here, and really enjoyed the outside space. Upon attempting to cook for thanksgiving, we noticed there were ZERO pots, pans, skillets, or anything to let us cook on the stove or in the oven. We had to buy these to be able to cook. When we opened the dishwasher, it was filled with black mold and had the whole place smelling moldy. There were mosquitos all over the inside of the house as well as a bottle of bed bug spray under the kitchen sink. My wife came home with several large bug bites on her back. We assume these were from mosquitos, but aren’t completely sure yet. We spent the whole first day there cleaning spiders and cobwebs from the corners so the place would be clean for our family. This is a great cabin in an amazing location, but it DEFINITELY needs a deep clean, some more attention, and a routine exterminator.

The cabin has incredible potential. The atmosphere makes you feel like you’re nested in the woods of North Carolina. The house is self has the bones to be healthy but needs a lot of TCL. The beds are worn out, the pillows are worn out and stained (pretty sure they were dirty when we arrived) , there was one roll of toilet paper in the bathroom ( shared for 2 bathrooms), ants all over the rug & couches in the living room. The couches feel old & dirty. I feel confident you could spend a little money and update this cabin.

We had an air conditioner problem but they moved us to other accommodations fairly quickly and we were pleased with their helpfulness. It was not as close to the lake as we hoped but our boys loved the fishing ponds!! It was very clean and had plenty of towels and kitchen items.

Excellent location, and fun little cabin. It’s not luxury but it’s perfect for those that want to take it easy around the fire and have a laid back vacation stay.

The good: the area is absolutely beautiful! All of the staff we encountered on site where helpful and friendly. The bad: our cabin was not cleaned very well. Stains on couches including mud and mystery stains. The dishwasher, which had dishes in it, was full of mold. Some of the bedding still had body hair in the sheets. The dangerous: on arrival and inspection of our cabin in the downstairs bathroom we found two small prescription pills. Also found a purple and white prescription pill in the upstairs bathroom. Tucked in the top bunk of the bunk beds was a knife. The dryer exhaust was completely blocked(fire hazard) due to the position of the dryer. I did reach out to evolve on day 1 and notified them of the findings. I received an email back that said someone would reach out to me asap… I’m still waiting on that response…. I’m thankful I don’t have young children who could have found these pills and eaten them thinking they are candy… that could result in a child’s death!
