Our family of 5 lucked out in choosing Marci and Jim's place for a 3 week stay. While this is rented out, it is still a home and clearly built for the owners. There are lots of personal touches that feel comfortably lived-in without feeling like you have invaded someone's personal space---the AirBNB sweet spot. The property is gorgeous and huge; we rarely found a need to leave. Kids loved playing at the beach, kayaking, or walking through the forest but their favorite thing was the John Deere power wheels tractor, an unexpected win for the parents as well. Overall, we had a fantastic stay!

Where to begin?! Marci's home is even more stunning than the pictures show. We visited on a much needed family trip, and it was simply perfect; There were 6 adults, 2 kids, 2 elderly parents, and 2 dogs...and we all found something to enjoy about this property each day of our trip. With 2 immunocompromised parents, it was important for us to find a space we could stay with enough potential for family activities within the property, such that we wouldn't feel the need to venture out too much...and we indeed never left! Whether it was s'mores and stories around the bonfire, paddling out to take pictures of seals and herons and warming up in the sauna afterwards, family foosball and ping pong tournaments, a BBQ feast, rock painting with the kids, a game of basketball or badminton, or enjoying the wonderful collection of vinyl records while cozying up on the couch ...there was always something to do and opportunities to create memories with family. The property has it's own private beach, and though it was quite rocky, the kids thoroughly enjoyed turning over rocks and finding tiny crabs and other critters hiding underneath. The house itself is large and spacious with high ceilings, but so tastefully furnished and designed that it still felt cozy throughout. All the beds were comfortable (everyone reported excellent sleep), bathrooms were stocked with quality towels, and the kitchen was very well equipped! The open concept of the space made it feel like you could do your own thing in different corners of the house but still be spending time together. My partner and I thought we were doing everyone else a kindness by taking the tent, but boy were we wrong! It was roomy, comfortable (it had carpet!) and so peaceful to relax in. We could see the fire pit from our bed, and hear the sound of the sea and loons when we woke up. Marci is a fantastic host - excellent at communication, and had one of the best "house guide" books prepared. I can tell they put care and thought into their guests experience. I've never received so many pats on the back as I did on this trip for finding this space! We were already making plans for returning before our trip even ended...Thank you so much Marci for sharing your beautiful home with us. We look forward to next time!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The space was beautifully decorated with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The wood stoves made the space feel very cozy. Everything we needed was available (towels, bedding, well equipped kitchen). Highly recommended.

If you were to describe the perfect weekend getaway this would be the place to stay. Tucked away in a private lot with beach access right off the property, we would watch sea lions and other wildlife in the morning as the calm sea serenaded us with waves softly crashing onto the shore. Would I go here again? Absolutely! Should you recommend this airbnb to your friends and family? Depends if you want to let the secret out 😉. Wow, what an amazing location and a stylish place -- it felt like we had stepped into Dwell magazine! Our dogs loved exploring the beach, the kitchen was well equipped and we had fun playing old records from the 60s and 70s. Lots of neat touches. Jim was an excellent resource for local things to see and do. We definitely plan to re-book.
