If you're looking for rustic, back to nature, in a setting that's also comfortable, you will enjoy Mike's place. We wanted to get away for Christmas and allow the grandbabies to go in and out to play. These cabins hit the mark perfectly. From the slab of granite where they played in a puddle after the rain, to the fire pit for warmth and round-the-fire singing, to the bbq, to the river, to the large deck where the girls scootered the day away, it was perfect. One thing to remember if you have young kiddos, when walking down to the river, keep in mind that it's a hike down a 55 mph road and there's no shoulder or sidewalk, so stay on the grass to keep safe. But it's WELL worth the hike down, which we did every day! We enjoyed our Christmas getaway immensely. Thank you, Mike!!
Very beautiful place to watch the sunset and watch the meteor showers. We love staying here because it has 2 separate cabins for our family. (Some of us want to stay up later than the other). The price is wonderful and corresponding with Mike and his daughter is very easy and helpful. Will definitely want to stay here again.
We enjoyed our Spring get-away to the Texas Hill Country. Highly recommend the Llanos river just two block away to spend an afternoon relaxing. If the bluebonnets are blooming both the Bluebonnet Railroad bridge in Kingsland and the Bluebonnet House north of Marble Falls off Hwy 281 are MUST see picture spots. The sunsets from the back porch of the cabins is a perfect way to end the day.
The two cabins were very nice and clean. Everything was updated. Very beautiful sunset view. The decks and lights on the patios were a very nice touch. Having coffee available and ice in the freezer were helpful to already have there without having to make a trip to the store. Got to meet Mike for a few minutes who was very nice and gave us a little background on the history of the place. Will definitely be staying there again. Debbie Kasper
The Cabins @ the Slab are great for a getaway. We had plenty of room for our entire family and everything was wonderful!
