John and Jane (& lovely Teddy the Labrador) are fabulous hosts. Welcoming and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. A wealth of local information both in terms of the advice given verbally but also lots of books available about local walks, history & wildlife. The room was light and airy with a very comfortable bed and great shower. Tea & coffee making facilities excellent and a nice lounge for guests to use too with an enviable view of Iona whilst you eat your excellent breakfast. Everything is within walking distance : the ferry to Iona and the local pub/restaurant are both within a few minutes stroll. Highly recommended, many thanks for a memorable stay.

We’ve stayed at 27 properties in course of 5-week drive through Ireland, Wales, northern England and Scotland. This was our best stay, by far, due to host John’s & Jane’s uniquely attentive, creative, proactive vocation fir hospitality. John spoke of luxuriousness of property we would next visit on Iona. But true luxury is in large measure a generous hospitality served up with love and genuine and wholesome personality, in which John and Jane shine. In fact their furnishings, art, mushroom/spinach omelets and home-made lemon and orange-whisky marmalades, and their proactive helpfulness in accommodating our late arrival due to ferry problems at Oban and tire problems on our car, surpassed the reported luxury of our next venue. They are not only superhosts, but genuinely humane and incomparably gifted exemplars of the ancient art of hospitality to strangers. These hosts made our penultimate stop before arriving at last on Iona as memorable as Iona itself. Deo gratias.

This was an absolutely lovely stay. John was a wonderful, attentive host and provided everything that we needed. The location was incredible and the views second to none. We really appreciated how helpful John was at letting us know ferry times and where to go/what to do. If you’re staying on the isle of mull this is where you should stay. 🥰

I am a west coast islander from the Isle of Bute, married to my lovely English wife Jane, have 4 grown up children (2 are mine and 2 are Jane's), plus my friendly chocolate Labrador girl called Teddy. I have lived at Seaview on the Isle of Mull since 1989 having opted out off mainland living and came to Mull to fulfil a lifelong ambition to be a fisherman - catching lobsters and crab. I retired from fishing several years ago and have run my small B&B since 1990. I enjoy meeting people from all around the world and sharing my time and home in this very special part of the world. Having lived here for so long I know the island and people well and like to help our guests make the most of their time here. My life motto? Life is short, keep it simple!
