We began our Goa sojourn with 6 nights at Gormand, and we couldn’t have asked for a better immersion to the susegad lifestyle. We were welcomed by Sonu (Karina’s mum) who very clearly explained house rules, shared spaces, laundry service and other details for our stay. We rented their brand new e-scooter to visit Cavelossim beach nearby, and explore the village. We would take a walk in the village in the mornings after breakfast, take a long nap in the long sultry afternoon (and had the most restful deep sleep) and step out for beach time in the early evening. It’s a little in the interior part of the village, away from the commercial hustle bustle of the beach facing villages, so restaurant options have to be planned out in advance. I’m writing this review after staying at other properties closer to the beaches this trip, and we felt the most well taken care of by everyone at Gormand: thank you Sonu Naren Rakesh and Najma
Beautiful house and beautiful rooms. Hosts are extremely nice. Will visit again.
My husband and I had an amazing time here. To be honest it exceeded our expectations. It was much better than in photos. Sonu aunty was very helping and had good knowledge of closeby places. There were many small things that added an extra touch of comfort and relax like books to read, games to play, multiple kinds of room lighting, 25L drinking water, different kinds of glasses ( beer, whisky etc...), laundry, nice kitchen and an amazing terrace. The place is so quiet and peaceful yet few meters from highway. It is a part of the house yet you get full privacy including a separate entry gate. I was alone for some days there as my husband had to go for some urgent work but I never felt unsafe. We are eagerly waiting for our next visit to Gormand.
This place is located away from the commercial touristy hullabaloo and provides a great opportunity to relax and get back to oneself. The bungalow is beautiful and very well maintained, to say the very least. Karuna is very helpful and communicative, Sonu is very caring, Rakesh and Najma are very helpful staff in the house, who are very nice people. The food was delicious and from a price point, it was totally worth it! The room is equipped with washing machine, microwave oven and many board games. The bathroom is squeaky clean and has all the amenities. The terrace above is peaceful, quiet and can be used as a work station if needed. Overall, we had a wonderful time here and will definitely recommend this place to South Goa travellers.
I had a wonderful stay with karunas place , the place is so beautiful as mentioned in the pictures and Sonu was so friendly with us suggested us some good local shops. Would like to visit this place again.

My family recently moved to Goa and live at 'Gormand' - a 1915 built Indo-Portuguese bungalow, with our pooches.
