Great stay and relaxing time!

We had a great experience staying in this cabin with a group of fellow Luther alums for homecoming! There were plenty of extra blankets and the beds were comfortable. We were also pleased with the kitchen amenities! Definitely would recommend staying here for a weekend away.

We had a great time ! The only 2 very minor things were that the blackstone had filled up with water from the heavy rain prior to our arrival so we didn’t use it and one thing in the kitchen for me is if I’m going to hand wash dishes I want a 3m scrubby sponge to do it. Otherwise everything was great!

Even though we spent most of our time sleeping at the cabin it had everything we needed. Shelly was easy to contact and very responsive for the one time I needed to contact her. We were gone early each morning from to sunset as we spent most of our time trout fishing. And that brings to mind. . .while the cabin is literally yards from Bear Creek, within a quarter mile, upstream or down, it isn't fishable. It is too overgrown. Our guide did however put us on the fish on other creeks in the area. We had relaxing evenings and nights on the front porch talking, laughing and sipping fine Irish whiskey. A bald eagle flew low and slow over the cabin once in the morning and once in the evening just keeping an eye on us. Very impressive for two flatlander from Central Illinois. The cabin was a little pricier than what we felt what we got compared to other fishing outings we've been on, but hey, whatever the market will bare right?

This was an amazing, beautiful, and private location for a weekend getaway! The weather was not on our side for our planned kayaking excursion unfortunately, but we enjoyed staying in and listening to the rain on the porch just as much. Shelly was a wonderful host and the bungalow was a great oasis for us. Super clean and well designed! We felt right at home and hope to come back!
