Staying at Nick's place was one of the best experiences I've ever had booking accommodation. The place was immaculately tidy and clean, with a fabulous surrounding that added to the charm. Nick was incredibly friendly and helpful. He provided us with clear instructions and we enjoyed great conversations with him. He even surprised us with fresh bread, eggs, and marmalade. My daughters loved playing with his adorable cat and watching birds from the balcony. Nick made sure to let us know we could contact him for anything we needed, making us feel right at home. My youngest even said she wished we could stay longer. The location was perfect, just an 18-minute drive to Alton Towers and about 9 minutes to Uttoxeter centre. Nick showed us where to find halal meat and a local place to get charcoal, which was especially helpful for my PhD project. I highly recommend staying at Nick's lovely home and will definitely rebook for our next visit.

I am almost worried to tell everyone how fabulous this home is for fear I will not manage to book it again! Beautifully presented, and in the most gorgeous rural surroundings. I have stayed here twice in the last few weeks and cannot wait to stay again. The view from the window is gorgeous, whether looking at the birds feeding or being amused by the chickens. Sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine at the end of the day was a joy. The bedrooms have their own bathroom and are spacious with comfy beds. The fire in the living room was lit for me on my first night and when Nick turned up with still warm homemade sourdough bread and marmalade, I immediately felt at home. The finish and quality of this home needs to be experienced and immerse yourself in the peace and quiet.

The annex is gorgeous! I especially loved the log burner, the children loved the toys there and having their own bathroom. Nick was a fantastic host - making cookies for the children and lighting the fire for us each night. If we return to the area, I wouldnt think twice before booking again.

Just back from a lovely stay at Larks Rise. Private and picturesque location whilst only being a short drive from local shops and amenities. A lovely touch being greeted with fresh sourdough and eggs. Loads of room for our family of four and our two little ones enjoyed all the toys! They also loved seeing all of the animals, the cows, chickens and we even got to meet and greet the friendly cats! We were here to enjoy some time at CBeebies land and took a trip to flip out to entertain the kids. We also enjoyed some lovely meals out, highly recommend The Star at Cotton - all plates were basically licked clean. A great find and would highly recommend to others travelling in the area, particularly if you have young families and need the extra space! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Larks Rise. The house is beautiful, spacious and well equipped for a family including a great selection of games for the children. Nick is an excellent host, friendly and welcoming. We had fresh eggs, sourdough and cheesecake on our arrival which was a real treat. He also gave us a tour of the chickens and cows which my son loved and is still talking about. He even found my football mad son a football goal so he could play on the grass. Overall a brilliant stay and with close access to the Peak District we had a lovely relaxing Easter weekend. We are already talking about going back!
