Incredible. Hard to put into words how unique this place is. An utterly remote country house set in the middle of a wild and striking valley surrounded by munros, walking trails, and its own private loch. How's that? Firewood was stocked up and we spent every evening playing games in the sitting room. Kitchen was very well equipped which is essential as you need to buy all your groceries from Inverness. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were excellent - lots of hot water for baths. We enjoyed a bit of fishing with Ciaran (the game keeper's son, I believe) who leant us a couple of fly rods. We swam in the loch and went walking around the estate. You must have a car to visit. It's a good 10 minutes drive through the estate to the road and from there another 5 minutes to the Kinlochewe pub. Other than that, it's a 20-30 minute drive to all the small coastal villages and towns near by. It's the perfect nature getaway if you want to experience the true spirit of the Highlands!

Fabulous place to stay. Had a middle of nowhere feel, which is exactly what we were after. Loads of estate tracks for wonderful walks with great scenery and wildlife. Farmhouse was welcoming and homely. Loads of space for everyone and the sitting room with the fire was exactly what we needed after the long walks. The boot room is a great addition to keep everything clean. We'll definitely be back

There are no words to describe the beauty of the Coulin Estate. The house is set back down a long track in complete tranquility. Only the handful of people staying on the estate have car access. There are numerous gravel tracks to go on long walks around the property with lovely views everywhere you look. The house was clean and very comfortable. If you are looking to get away from the crowds in a remote and beautiful highland setting you can’t do better. A magical experience that my family will treasure for years to come. Hope to come back again someday!

This place is absolutely stunning. A giant house on a 23,000 sq acre estate. Neil, the estates keeper, went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. He is wonderful and the setting is just spectacular.

Cosy, spotlessly clean and comfy farmhouse in breathtaking surroundings. Amazing walks from the door round the stunning loch and up the valley. Eagles, otters and the two ponies a frequent sight. It was just just perfect for our family gathering of adults. Completely off the grid, a 10 minute drive down a beautiful track from the road but with super fast wifi. The farmhouse is on a large shooting estate and the estate managers (who live just a reassuring 10 minutes away) were super helpful and friendly with a couple of minor problems we encountered. We were so sad to leave this magical place.
